A four-year standout for the women's basketball team, Michele Merten Diodati is one of the most decorated athletes in Babson athletics history. A member of the class of 1995, Merten Diodati is a two-time Honorable Mention All-American, a four-time All-Conference selection, a three-time Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star, a four-time New England Women's Basketball Association All-Star, and the 1993 NEW 8 Player of the Year. She is still Babson's all-time leader with 1,927 career points, and she is second in career rebounds with 1,030. She played all 112 of her team's games during her four years, and she is the only player in the history of the Babson women's basketball program to top both 1000 points and 1000 rebounds in her career. Perhaps even more impressive than her individual accomplishments, the women's basketball team recorded an amazing 91-21 record during her four years as an undergraduate. The Beavers won the NEW 8 title for the second time ever in 1992-93 and advanced all the way to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in both 1992-93 and 1993-94.
