A 1979 graduate of Northeastern University and native of Sandwich, Chris "Doc" Troyanos first came to Babson as a co-op student in 1978. Over the next 25 years, he established himself as a true legend on the Babson campus, caring for more than 2,000 athletes as the College's sole head athletic trainer. During that time, he played an instrumental role in several great success stories, serving as the athletic trainer for the men's soccer team during their national championship seasons of 1979 and 1980, as well as for the men's ice hockey program during its national title run in 1983-84. While the majority of his time was spent turning Babson's modest training facilities into some of the finest in the country, Doc has also proven invaluable in helping transform the entire face of Babson Athletics in recent years. Doubling as Assistant Athletic Director and liaison to the Office of Alumni and Development, he assisted in the planning, design, and fund-raising for a number of new facilities at Babson, including the Lunder Fitness Center; the varsity weight room; and the College's massive Upper Fields Project, which features spectacular Hartwell-Rogers Field, a state-of-the-art AstroTurf field, and a newly-renovated softball diamond. The Paul C. Staake Award winner in 1987, Doc has also run Babson's annual President's Cup Golf Tournament and has been highly involved in the College's Homecoming Weekend celebrations over the past several years.

Thanks to his efforts, Troyanos was rewarded with a new title in 2003, when he became Babson's first-ever Director for Major Gifts for Athletics. Despite the change in position, Doc has remained a fixture in the realm of athletic training, continuing his duties as director of sports medicine for the Boston Marathon, assisting in the Pan-Am Games in the Dominican Republic, and maintaining close relationships with athletes, both past and present, at Babson.
