Babson Athletics Hall of Fame
A gifted athlete, Tom Sasso is one of the best hockey players to have ever donned the green and white. Talent, enthusiasm, and desire typified this highly skilled player who, in four years, led Babson to an incredible combined record of 85-34-2. During his illustrious career, Sasso won several accolades including the Hobey Baker Award in 1987 and 1988, All-American, All-East, and ECAC All-Star honors in 1986, 1987, and 1988, and New England Division III Male Athlete of the Year in 1988. Each of his single-season point totals ranks among the program's top ten of all-time, and his 229 career points (99 goals, 130 assists) are still the most by any player in Babson ice hockey history. Drafted in the 10th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft by the Quebec Nordiques prior to his junior season, Sasso played five years of minor league hockey, totaling 135 goals and 228 assists for 363 points in 238 career games.Â
