Babson Athletics Hall of Fame
Laurie Hornik Philbin proved to be an unexpected but welcome addition to Babson College. Transferring in as a sophomore, she made an immediate impact on the soccer, basketball, and softball teams. Earning All-Conference honors in all three sports, she was named All-New England in both basketball and softball. Her 1,062 career points and 248 career assists both rank seventh on Babson's all-time lists, and her 13.6 points per game scoring average is the third highest in program history. Also an outstanding performer in the classroom, Hornik Philbin received Babson's Scholar-Athlete Award in 1988.Â
