A member of the Class of 1976, Jim Powers enjoyed a brilliant two-sport career during his four years at Babson. A two-time team MVP and three-time All-New England selection, Powers captained the men's soccer team to its first-ever NCAA Championship during his senior season of 1975. That year, he was also selected Most Outstanding Defensive Player at the NCAA Tournament, and was named an NSCA All-American. In addition to his incredible accomplishments on the soccer field, Powers was also a three-year standout on the ice hockey team. Upon his graduation in 1976, he was fourth on the team's all-time scoring list, and first among defensemen. His achievements both on the field and on the ice earned him Babson's Outstanding Senior Athlete Award in 1975-76.
