Brant Savage (Charlton, Mass.) and sophomore
Jason Finkelstein (Walpole, Mass.) were named to the College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District team on Tuesday afternoon.
Savage received CSC Academic All-District honors for the third consecutive season, while Finkelstein was recognized for the first time in his career.
Since 1952, CSC (formerly CoSIDA) has honored more than 20,000 outstanding student-athletes across the NCAA. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve and maintain a GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.
An All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) second-team selection this spring, Savage batted .275 with six doubles, five homers, a team-high 36 runs batted in and 32 runs scored in 36 games. He finished third on the team with 62 total bases and was fourth on the squad with a .416 slugging percentage.
Savage reached base safely in each of his last 14 starts and had at least one hit in 14 of the Beavers' last eight contests. He also led the team with multiple hits in 15 outings and was second on the squad with 10 multi-RBI games.
A two-time American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3baseball.com Region II selection and three-time All-NEWMAC honoree, Savage was a three-year starter at third base and batted .302 with 39 doubles, 24 home runs, 124 RBI and 118 runs scored in 147 career games. He is tied for second on Babson's all-time list in homers, is third in total bases (284), tied for third in RBI and sixth in doubles, and ranks 11th in both hits and runs scored.
A second-team All-NEWMAC honoree this spring, Finkelstein made nine starts and 10 appearances overall on the hill going 3-2 with a 3.30 earned run average in 46.1 innings pitched. He finished third on the team with 31 strikeouts, recorded one complete game and ended the year with a 1.38 WHIP while not allowing more than three earned runs in any of his starts.
Over his first two seasons at Babson, Finkelstein is 11-5 with a 4.18 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 112.0 innings over 24 appearances.
The Beavers wrapped up the 2025 campaign at 23-13 after falling to MIT in the opening round of the NEWMAC Tournament.
