Baseball Announces 2026 Schedule

BABSON PARK, Mass.— Coming off a fifth-place finish in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season in 2025, Babson College veteran head baseball coach Matt Noone officially announced his program's 2026 schedule on Friday.

The Beavers, who played in the NEWMAC championship round in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024 and hosted an NCAA Tournament Regional in 2024, have a 38-game slate on tap for 2026. The slate includes 16 NEWMAC games along with eight contests against teams that played in last year's NCAA Tournament, including two teams that competed in the Division III College World Series.

The Green and White will open the season in San Antonio on February 27-March 1, taking on Trinity (Texas), a 2025 Division III College World Series team, in a three-game series for the seventh time since 2017.

Babson will head to Auburndale, Florida, for the RussMatt Invitational, which will feature seven games from March 13-19. The trip begins with a game against Bowdoin on March 13, followed by Saint Joseph (Conn.) on March 14, Amherst on March 15, and Scranton on March 16. The week wraps up against 2025 NCAA Tournament team Johns Hopkins on March 17, Rutgers-Newark on March 18, and Franklin & Marshall on March 19.

Coach Noone's squad will begin NEWMAC play in the home opener against longtime rival Wheaton on March 24 at Govoni Field to open a three-game homestand. Suffolk comes to town on March 25 and Roger Williams will be on hand on March 26. The first NEWMAC road games are at Coast Guard on March 28, and the rematch at Wheaton in on March 31 to wrap up the month.

April begins with back-to-back non-conference road games at Trinity (Connecticut) on April 1 and Nichols on April 2, followed by a non-league doubleheader at home against UMass Boston on April 4. Defending NEWMAC champion and NCAA Super Regional participant Salve Regina will host the Beavers on April 7 before a five-game homestand begins vs. Rhode Island College on April 9.

A tough stretch begins with a conference twin bill against defending runner-up MIT on April 11, and a rematch against Salve Regina on April 14. That is followed by an encounter with Tufts on April 15 and a trip to 2024 NCAA Tournament team UMass Dartmouth on April 16.

Eight of the final 11 regular season games will be against conference opponents, beginning with a pair against Emerson on April 18 and a visit to Springfield on April 21. After non-conference home tilts against Lasell on April 22 and 2025 NCAA Tournament team Johnson & Wales on April 23, the Beavers will host Clark for a doubleheader on April 25 and visit NCAA tournament team Keene State on April 26. The regular season winds up with a contest vs. Springfield at Govoni Field on April 28 and a doubleheader at WPI on May 2.

The six-team NEWMAC Tournament will get underway with single-elimination games on May 6, followed by the double-elimination semifinals on May 7-8 and the finals on May 9-10. The NEWMAC champion receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
