WHAT TO KNOW
• No. 14 Babson will play the first of three straight home matches when it welcomes Emerson to the Babson Tennis Courts on Friday for a NEWMAC clash before stepping out of conference to host Colby on Saturday.
SERIES HISTORY
vs. Emerson
• Babson is 10-0 all-time against the Lions in a series that dates back to 2012.
• The Beavers have not dropped a point over their last eight matches versus the Lions, and sophomore
Chaniel Soffer was one of two players to win in both singles and doubles as the Green and White cruised to a 9-0 victory in the last matchup on October 12, 2023, in Babson Park.
vs. Colby
• The Beavers are 1-1 against the Mules dating back to 2004 and Saturday's dual match will be the first between the programs since 2010.
• Babson suffered a 7-2 loss back on September 17, 2004, before defeating Colby 5-4 on October 9, 2010.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 14 Babson (5-2, 1-1 NEWMAC) had its three-match winning streak snapped last Sunday, suffering a 4-3 loss at then-No. 24 Wellesley.

Alessandra Cristiani rallied for a three-set victory at number three singles for the Beavers, who lost when leading after doubles for the first time since April 5 of last season at Emory.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
• Emerson (2-9, 0-3 NEWMAC) has dropped five straight matches and is coming off a 7-0 loss at then-No. 12 MIT last Saturday.
• Abigail Minor and Sidra Sundberg each won a game in singles for the Lions, who lost 6-0 in all three doubles matches and four of six singles contests.
• Carlson Jones is 5-4 overall and 3-3 at number six singles, Amaya Briones is 4-2 at number two and Jayden Beverly has won three singles matches, which includes two at number six.
• Alisa Pimenova is 4-4 at number three doubles but Emerson has struggled dropping all nine of its matches in league play.
SCOUTING THE MULES
• No. 29 Colby (5-4) has dropped three straight matches and is coming off a 6-1 loss to No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer last Friday.
• Waka Aida earned the Mules' lone point against the Sagehens with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number four singles.
• Ella Novion is 9-8 overall and has gone 5-4 at number three singles, Aida is 8-5 overall and 6-3 at number four, and Amelie Gal is 10-5 in all matches and 4-1 at number six singles.
• Aida and Jade Finestone are 3-1 at number two singles and the pairing of Novion on Gal are 5-3 at number three for Colby, which has dropped eight of nine matches at first doubles.
SOFFER, STASIOWSKA EARN CONFERENCE RECOGNITION
• After going 2-0 at number one doubles last week,
Olivia Soffer and junior
Kamila Stasiowska were selected as the NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week on Monday.
• They opened league play with a 6-4 win over Clara and Lili Goshgarian of Smith and followed it up with a 7-5 triumph over Sofia Corte-Real and Kotistha Modak of Wellesley last Sunday.
NEWMAC REVIVAL
• The NEWMAC is one of four Division III conferences with three teams ranked in the top 20 of the latest ITA poll along with the NESCAC, UAA and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
• No. 14 Babson is joined by 12th-ranked Wellesley and 16th-ranked MIT, while the UAA (5), NESCAC (5) and SCIAC (3) make up 13 of the other 17 squads in the top 20.
HOME, SWEET HOME
• The Beavers, who are set to play their first home matches of the season on Friday and Saturday, have won their last 15 contests at the Babson Tennis Courts dating back to May 3, 2023.
• Overall, Babson has won its last 23 matches against Division III foes at home stretching back to April 24, 2019.
• The Green and White's last loss on the Babson Tennis Courts came against MIT on April 23, 2019.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have gone 6-1 at number one, two and three singles to begin the spring.
• Babson has secured the doubles point in six of its first seven matches and is 6-1 at number one doubles.
