MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— Four members of the Babson College women's basketball team were recognized for their work in the classroom when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its Academic All-Conference team on Tuesday.
Senior
Katelyn Mollica (Foxborough, Mass.) was named to the All-Academic Team for the third straight year, junior
Chloe Perreault (Danbury, Conn.) was honored for the second time, and senior
Camilla Silk (Medfield, Mass.) and graduate student
Toni Thompson (Newbury Park, Calif.) earned their first NEWMAC academic accolade. Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale after the 2024 fall semester, achieved second-year academic status, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
A Supply Chain Management major, Mollica started all 26 games and earned first team All-Conference honors after leading the team and finishing fifth in the league in scoring with a career-high 15.0 points per game. She topped the NEWMAC in 3-point baskets per game (3.6) and ranks among the league leaders in overall field goal percentage (.422, seventh) and 3-point field goal percentage (.433, second). She set program records for 3-pointers in a season (94) and career (218). She ranks second in Division III with a single-season program record 94 three-point field goals. She finished her career with 1,035 points, 18th on the program's all-time scoring list.
An undecided major, Perreault made two starts and appeared in all 26 games, averaging 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 43.1 percent from the floor and 35.1 percent from beyond the arc. She made at least one three-pointer in eight of Babson's final 10 games and averaged 9.0 points on 50 percent shooting (16-of-32) over the Beavers' final five contests.
A Marketing major, Silk started 24 of her 25 games this season and finished with 7.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 53.2 percent from the field. She ranked fourth on the team in scoring and second in rebounding and led the squad in field goal percentage. She reached double figures in scoring in six outings, with a season-high 15 points in the win over Brandeis, and had double-digit rebounds in six games as well, with a season high of 13 against Maine Maritime and Clark.
A Business major, Thompson appeared in 11 games for the Beavers after transferring from Occidental College. She averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds while playing 9.4 minutes per game and contributed six assists and eight steals.
