Mollica Receives NEWBA Third-Team Honors

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.—
Babson College senior Katelyn Mollica (Foxborough, Mass.) was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) third team on Tuesday afternoon. 

One of the top shooters in the country, Mollica averaged a career-high 15.0 points while shooting a career-best 43.3 percent from beyond the arc to go along with 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26 starts this winter. She scored in double figures 21 times and put up 16.0 points on 45.6 shooting from the field in NEWMAC play. 

Mollica set new single-season program records and ranks second in Division III in both three-point field goals (94) and three-pointers per game (3.62), and is also 11th in three-point field goal percentage at 43.3. Additionally, she was fifth in the NEWMAC in scoring and was named to the all-conference first team last week. 

A three-year starter for the Beavers, Mollica averaged 12.0 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 86 career games. She leaves Babson as the all-time leader in three-pointers (215) and three-point field goal percentage (41.1), and ranks 18th on the career scoring list with 1,035 points. 

Babson, which won its final seven regular season games, ended the year at 16-10 after falling to WPI in the NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinals.
