Emily Flynn (Hanover, Mass.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.
A 5'10" forward, Flynn averaged 18.5 points and 6.0 assists while shooting 45.2 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from three-point range over two games last week. She scored a career-high 21 points to go along with nine rebounds in a 67-63 loss to Tufts on Tuesday before recording the first triple-double of her career with 16 points, 12 rebounds and a career-best 10 assists in Saturday's 74-50 victory over Albertus Magnus on Saturday. The triple-double was just the third in Division III this season and the Beavers' first since January 2011.
Flynn leads the team in scoring through five games with 14.6 points per game, which ranks eighth in the NEWMAC. She is shooting 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the field and 45.2 percent (14-of-31) from three-point range while collecting 7.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per outing. She ranks fifth in the NEWMAC in field goal percentage, seventh in three-point field goal percentage, 11th in rebounding, fifth in assists, and third in assist/turnover ratio (+2.3).
Babson (3-2) is back on the court with a non-conference contest against local rival Brandeis on Monday at 6 p.m. inside Staake Gymnasium.
