Women's Basketball Closes First Semester at Bridgewater State on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 19-5 all-time against Bridgewater State in a series that dates back to 1988.
•    The Beavers had their four-game winning streak against the Bears snapped last season, although the teams have met just five times since the 2012 NCAA Tournament. 
•    Babson and Bridgewater State met in 16 consecutive seasons from 1993-2008.
•    The Beavers are 4-2 on the road in the series going back to the 1999-2000 campaign but Saturday's contest marks just their third visit to Bridgewater since 2007.

LAST MEETING
•    Arielle Cleveland tied the game with nine seconds to go in the fourth quarter and scored six of her 15 points in overtime to lift Bridgewater State to a 79-74 win over the Beavers on November 13, 2024, in Babson Park. 
•    Kylie Grassi scored 20 points, Kylee Piche contributed 13 points and seven steals, and Jessica D'Amours and Lexi Thompson added 12 points apiece for the Bears, who forced 24 turnovers and went in front for good on a bucket by Cleveland with 1:08 to go in the extra session.
•    Katelyn Mollica '25 led all scorers with 23 points, junior Samantha Reale finished with a career-high 22 points and eight rebounds, and graduate student Emily Flynn added 12 points and 13 boards for Babson, which led by nine with under five minutes to go in the fourth quarter

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (4-4) has split its last four games and is coming off an 82-66 loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the finale of the David Wells Classic in southern California last Saturday. 
•    Flynn scored 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, sophomore Rylie Rosenberg provided 15 points and classmate Alessa Mendoza added a career-high 13 points as four players scored in double figures for the Beavers, who shot 49.1 percent and trailed by just four with under five minutes to play in the fourth quarter. 
•    Flynn (14.4 pts, 8.1 reb, 3.6 ast) leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists and is shooting 47.3 percent, Rosenberg (10.9 pts, 2.0 ast) has scored in double figures in four straight outings and Reale (10.7 pts, 8.1 reb, 2.2 stl) leads the team with three double-doubles. 
•    The Green and White is averaging 65.3 points and ranks 23rd in Division III in both three-pointers per game (8.3) and rebounding margin (11.5). 

SCOUTING THE BEARS
•    Bridgewater State (1-3) has dropped its last three games and suffered a 73-53 loss at WPI on Wednesday night. 
•    Sophie Bradbury scored 18 points, Savannah Azoff contributed nine points off the bench and Haley Burchhardt chipped in with eight points, four rebounds and three assists for the Bears, who shot 35.7 percent from the floor and trailed by 17 at halftime. 
•    Bradbury (11.5 pts, 4.3 reb, 2.0 ast) leads the team with six three-point field goals and 12 free throw attempts, Burchhardt (7.5 pts, 4.0 reb) is shooting 42.9 percent from the floor and Emilie von der Linden (7.0 pts, 6.3 reb, 2.0 blocks) has one double-double and leads the squad in rebounds and blocked shots. 
•    Bridgewater State is forcing 21 turnovers per game and ranks 48th in Division III in three-point field goal percentage (32.8), but is averaging just 56.5 points over its first four contests. 

BUCKETS OFF THE BENCH
•    Led by a career-high 20 points from Rosenberg, seven from Mendoza and six from first-year Molly Donovan, the Beavers' subs contributed 40 of the 65 points in last Friday's win over Pomona-Pitzer. 
•    Mendoza followed it up with a career-best 13 points on Saturday against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and averaged 10.0 points on 9-of-15 shooting (60 percent) to go along with 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two games at last weekend's David Wells Classic. 

DEEP THREATS
•    Flynn (21st) and Rosenberg (50th) rank among the top 50 in Division III in three-point field goals with 21 and 18, respectively, entering Saturday's clash at Bridgewater State. 
•    Rosenberg is 13-of-29 (44.8 percent) from beyond the arc over her last four games, while Flynn knocked down a career-high five triples against Tufts back on November 18 and has at least two trifectas in seven of eight games this season. 

BEAVER BITES
•    Donovan scored six points and matched her season high with five rebounds and two assists in last Friday's 65-59 win at Pomona-Pitzer. 
•    Sophomore Mary Kate Flynn scored a season-high four points to go along with three boards in Friday's victory over Pomona-Pitzer and followed it up with season highs of six rebounds and three assists in a season-best 16 minutes at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday. 
•    Emily Flynn averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in Babson's two games against Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps last weekend, and has made at least one three-pointer in 11 consecutive games.
•    Rosenberg has scored in double figures in four straight outings and is averaging 15.8 points during this stretch.
•    Senior Chloe Perreault matched her season high with 12 points last Saturday at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and has pulled down five or more rebounds in six of the Beavers' first eight games. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers have made at least six three-pointers in 11 straight games.
•    Babson is 35-1 going back to the start of the 2022-23 campaign when scoring at least 70 points. 
•    The Green and White has won the rebounding battle in all eight games this season and has been outrebounded just once in its last 20 contests dating back to early January of last season. 
•    The Beavers are 11-2 since the start of last season when holding their opponents below 60 points.

•    Babson returns to action on December 29 when it hosts Hartford in to begin the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament inside Staake Gymnasium.
