SERIES HISTORY
vs. Tufts

• Babson and the Jumbos will meet for just the seventh time since 1994 on Friday with Tufts holding a 6-0 series lead.
• The two schools met in three straight years from 2013-16, and then not again until 2021-22. Last year's match was cancelled due to inclement weather.
• The Jumbos have captured three of the six matches by 9-0 scores.
vs. Salve Regina
• Babson has captured all 10 matches all-time against Salve Regina in a series that dates back to 2000.
• The teams will meet for the first time since the Beavers defeated the Seahawks in the fall of 2015.
• The Beavers have captured half of the 10 matches by 9-0 scores.

LAST MEETING
vs. Tufts

• Junior Olivia Soffer won at number one singles in the Beavers' 8-1 loss to No. 10 Tufts in Somerville, Mass., on April 3, 2022. Soffer and senior Adèle Fernández suffered an 8-5 setback to junior Elle Christensen and Casey Cummings '22 at number one doubles.
• Tufts breezed to straight-set victories in the other five singles matches, and posted easy wins at number two and three doubles.
vs. Salve Regina
• Babson dropped just one game across three doubles matches and won all six singles matches in straight sets for a 9-0 season-opening victory over Salve Regina on September 1, 2015 in Newport, R.I.
• Tori Paolino '16 and Dina Weick '17 rolled to an 8-1 win at number one doubles, Yagmur Akgul '18 and Chloe Brandt '19 were 8-0 winners at number two, and Kylie Kam '18 and Eleni Gianelos '18 breezed to an 8-0 triumph at number three.
• The Green and White had little trouble in singles play as Paolino at number three, Kam at number six and Claire Foster '18 at number five all  posted 6-0, 6-0 victories. Gianelos was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at number two, Weick cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at number four and Akgul won 6-2, 6-2 at number one.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 11 Babson (6-1, 3-0 NEWMAC) posted its second straight NEWMAC victory with an 8-1 verdict over Mount Holyoke on Wednesday afternoon  in South Hadley.
• Sophomore Elena Keitt picked up victories in both singles and doubles to lead the Beavers. Keitt and sophomore Kamila Stasiowska recorded a doubles win at number three, senior Juliette Moschella and junior Laetitia Rizk were winners at number two, and Fernández and first-year Chaniel Soffer posted a victory at number one. All five singles wins came in straight sets, Keitt at number three, sophomore Grace Starcher at number five, sophomore Shyla Khattar at number four, senior Jane Wang at number six, and Olivia Soffer at number one.
• Cristiani (16-1) is ranked third in Division III in singles, and Olivia Soffer (11-1) is ranked 17th. Rizk (7-4) is third on the team in singles wins, followed by Moschella (6-3), Chaniel Soffer (6-4), sophomore Mariana Campos (5-4), and Stasiowska (5-4).
• O. Soffer and Cristiani (19-1) are ranked No. 2 in Division III doubles. C. Soffer and Fernández have posted a 7-4 doubles record, including 4-2 at dual matches.

SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
• No. 24 Tufts (2-5, 0-2 NESCAC) is looking to break a two-match losing streak after falling to No. 6 Emory, 8-1, last Saturday in Atlanta, Ga. Four of the Jumbos' five losses have come to top 10 teams and the fifth was to Division I Bryant.
• The Jumbos earned their only win against Emory at number three doubles as sophomores Steffy Jullian and Lucy Mitchell pulled out an 8-6 victory. Sophomore Stephanie Woodbury and first-year Natalie Hu were narrowly defeated at number two doubles, 8-6, and senior Zoe Kava lost in a third-set super-breaker at number one singles, 6-7 (6-8), 7-5, 1-0 (10-7).
• Kava (3-4) plays in the top flight for the Jumbos while senior Rebecca Lim (5-2) leads the team in wins at number two. Look for Mitchell (3-4) at either three or four and Hu (3-4) at either four or five.
• The Woodbury-Hu tandem is 4-3 at number two doubles for the Jumbos.

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
• Salve Regina (2-6, 0-0 NEWMAC) dropped all five matches on its spring trip to Florida from March 10-14. Included in the week were a 6-2 setback to Hamline and a 5-2 loss to IUPUI on March 12. The Seahawks' conference opener at Clark last Saturday was postponed.
• Seniors Casey Farrell and Alexa Stevens recorded an 8-6 win at number one doubles against Hamline, and Stevens and first-year Stephanie Davis posted victories at one and two singles. Farrell captured a win at number five singles in the loss to IUPUI.
• Davis (4-3) leads the team in singles wins, played at number two and three. Stevens (2-5) plays at number one or two, and first-year Madigan Murphy (2-5) plays in the middle of the line-up.
• Davis and Murphy are 2-4 in doubles, with both wins coming at number three.

REGIONAL RANKINGS
• Babson is third in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Rankings released on Wednesday.
• Wesleyan and Williams hold down the top two spots, and the rest of the list includes (4) Middlebury, (5) MIT, (6) Amherst, (7) Bowdoin, (8) NYU, (9) Tufts, and (10) Vassar.

RANKED OPPONENTS
• Friday's match against Tufts will be Babson's fifth of nine encounters this season against a team in the ITA Division III rankings, with the previous four all coming during the team's spring trip to California two weeks ago.
• The Beavers are 3-1 against ranked teams, with wins over No. 27 Caltech (7-2), No. 10 Redlands (5-4), and No. 14 Sewanee (5-4) and a loss to No. 28 Bowdoin (6-3).
• The Green and White will also take on No. 5 Emory on April 5, No. 9 Trinity (Texas) on April 6, No. 39 Brandeis on April 14, and No. 16 MIT on April 19.

CONFERENCE DOMINANCE
• The Beavers have posted an 18-2 regular season record against NEWMAC foes over the past four seasons, and a 47-7 mark going back to 2015.
• The only conference losses in the past eight years were to MIT (five times) and Wellesley (twice).
• The Green and White won six of their eight conference matches last season by 9-0 scores on the way to capturing the regular season title.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson is 6-0 when leading after doubles this season and has won 50 straight matches with a lead heading into singles, a streak that extends back to May 1, 2018.
• The Beavers have won 20 of their last 21 regular season matches going back to the start of last season.

UP NEXT
• The Beavers travel to Atlanta next weekend for matches against No. 7 Emory on Friday and No. 16 Trinity (Texas) on Saturday.
