• No. 13 Babson (4-1, 1-0 NEWMAC) is coming off a 6-3 loss to 28th-ranked Bowdoin back on March 15 in Claremont, Calif.

Matia Cristiani won at number one doubles and were victorious at first and second singles, respectively, for the Beavers, who dropped three-set decisions at number three, four and six singles to the Polar Bears.

Olivia Soffer is 10-10-1 in all matches at 4-0 at number one, and first-year
Chaniel Soffer is 6-3 overall and 2-2 at number four this spring.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
• Smith (6-2, 1-0 NEWMAC) has won two straight matches and is coming off a 5-2 victory over Franklin Pierce on Wednesday in Florida.
• Ayla Hauser is 4-1 at number one singles, Aranne Jung is 3-2 with wins at third, fourth and fifth singles, and Sabrina Wang is 3-2 overall and 2-0 at number six singles.
• Hauser and Marielle Sauber are 3-0 at number one doubles, Jung and Clara Goshgarian are 2-1 at number two and Wang and Miranda Gibson are a perfect 4-0 at number three doubles this spring.
SOFFER AND CRISTIANI SWEEP NEWMAC WEEKLY AWARDS
•
Olivia Soffer went 4-0 on the way to being selected as the conference's singles player of the week, while she and Cristiani were a perfect 4-0 on the way to earning NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week accolades.
• Soffer won three of her four matches in straight sets and the duo defeated third-ranked Katherine Petty and Brooke Despriet of Sewanee, 8-7 (7-4), in a rematch of last May's NCAA doubles final.
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOK
•
Olivia Soffer, who became the program's all-time combined wins leader at the ITA Cup back in October, surpassed Rebecca Stone's '12 record of 59 singles wins with her victory against Redlands on March 12.
• Soffer boasts a 62-7 career singles record and owns 116 combined singles and doubles victories in her time at Babson.
• Her 54 wins in doubles rank seventh in school history but are just six behind the record of 60 set by Francesca Russo '06 from 2002-06.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have won 15 consecutive home matches against Division III opponents going back to the start of the 2021-22.
• Babson is 4-0 when leading after doubles this season and has won its last 15 matches going back to the start of last year when carrying a lead into singles play.
