Box Score Soffer Passes Rebecca Stone '12 as Beavers' All-Time Combined Wins Leader in Semifinal Victory

Matia Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) and junior
Olivia Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) finished as the Division III runner-up in doubles at the ITA Cup at the Rome Tennis Center on Saturday night.
The tournament's second seed, Cristiani and Soffer defeated Sylwia Mikos and Shianna Guo of Chicago 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) in the semifinals. In the victory, Soffer passed Rebecca Stone '12 as the program's all-time leader with 108 combined singles and doubles wins.
Cristiani and Soffer faced another duo from Chicago in the championship match and fell to the Maroons' top pairing, third-seeded Oliwia Mikos and Rena Lin, 6-1, 6-1 in the championship match. The loss was the first of the season for Cristiani and Soffer, who are now 14-1 overall.
In addition to reaching the doubles final, Cristiani won her first two matches in singles on Friday and Saturday before seeing her run end with a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Sylwia Mikos. She is the second consecutive Babson player to reach the semifinals at the ITA Cup after Soffer achieved the feat last season.
