SERIES HISTORY
vs. NYU
• Saturday's match will be just the second all-time meeting between Babson and NYU.
• The Beavers defeated the Violets, 8-1, in the only previous meeting back on October 6, 2002, in Babson Park.
vs. Tufts
• Babson and Tufts will meet for just the sixth time since 1994 on Sunday afternoon, and the first time since 2016.
• The Beavers trail the Jumbos 5-0 in the all-time series, which includes a 7-2 setback in 2013 and a 6-3 loss in 2014.

LAST MEETING
vs. NYU
• No individual results are available from the only previous match in 2002.
vs. Tufts
• No. 14 Tufts jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after doubles and won all six singles matches in straight sets to defeat 28th-ranked Babson, 9-0, on March 31, 2016.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (3-5) is coming off a 5-4 victory over No. 36 Brandeis last Sunday at the Babson Tennis Complex. Three of the five Beaver losses have come to nationally-ranked programs.
• Sophomore Jane Wang was a double-winner for the Beavers, teaming with classmate Juliette Moschella for a victory at third doubles before taking the fourth singles match in straight sets.
• First-year Olivia Soffer also won her No. 1 singles match for the Beavers, and graduate student Runsi Patro and junior Morgan Mann were victorious at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively, to clinch the team victory.
• Soffer, 10-3 overall and 7-1 at number one singles, has won four consecutive matches at the top singles spot, three of which have come against regionally-ranked opponents.
• First-year Emily Stouch is 3-3 at fourth singles and is second on the team with six victories overall (6-6), and Moschella and Patro have four singles wins apiece.
• Soffer and sophomore Adèle Fernández are 3-4 at number one doubles, while the duo of Stouch and Moschella is 2-4 at number two.

SCOUTING THE VIOLETS
• NYU (2-3) captured its two matches last weekend, defeating Rochester and William Smith, both by 8-1 scores.
• The Violets swept all six singles matches in straight sets in the win over William Smith after taking five of six singles against Rochester. NYU took five of the six doubles matches over the weekend.
• First-year Carol Plakk won both of her matches at No. 1 singles for the Violets, and junior Karina Jensrud did the same at No. 2. They cruised to a pair of victories together at No. 1 doubles.
• First-years Jimena Menendez at No. 3, Emily Baxter at No. 4, and Lynn Robinson at No. 6 were also double winners in singles for NYU. Robinson and sophomore Phoebe Su won both of their matches at No. 3 doubles.

SCOUTING THE JUMBOS
• Tufts (4-1) brings a four-match winning streak into the weekend, which includes a match Saturday at Trinity (Conn.) prior to meeting Babson on Sunday.
• The Jumbos posted impressive victories over No. 30 Gustavus Adolphus, 9-0, No. 24 Trinity (Texas), 8-1, and No. 21 Washington (Mo.), 8-1, on a recent trip to San Antonio, Texas.
• First-year Elle Christensen and junior Tilly Rigby won their matches at the top two singles spots for the Jumbos. Sophomore Zoe Kava, senior Nicki Frankel, and juniors Casey Cummings and Madeline Suk also went undefeated on the trip in singles play.
• Christensen and Rigby won the No. 1 doubles match against Trinity but were knocked off against WashU, 8-4. Seniors Caroline Garrido and Maggie Dorr split their pair of matches at No. 2 doubles.

REGIONAL RECOGNITION
• This weekend's matches will feature ranked players from all schools which are appearing in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regional rankings. Tufts is ranked fifth in the Northeast while Babson is 12th and NYU is 19th.
• For Babson, Soffer is ranked eighth in the Northeast in singles and the Soffer-Fernandez duo is 11th in the Northeast in doubles.
• Tufts' Christensen is third in the region in singles, Kava is 12th and Rigby is 15th. Christensen and Rigby are the top-ranked doubles tandem.
• NYU's Plakk is ranked seventh in the Northeast in singles and Jensrud is 16th.

SOFFER EARNS WEEKLY HONORS
• Soffer continued her stronghold of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Singles Player of the Week honor, being recognized on Monday for the second straight week and fourth time this spring.
• She continued a dominant run at number one singles defeating Brandeis' regionally-ranked Bhakti Parwani 7-5, 6-0 on Sunday to help Babson upend the No. 36 Judges for the first time since 2008.

UP NEXT
• The Beavers begin NEWMAC action this week, visiting Clark University on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. match and Smith on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. encounter.
