Jolie Wang (Los Altos Hills, Calif.) all recorded victories in both singles and doubles as No. 7 Babson College defeated 13th-ranked Williams College, 5-2, in non-conference women's tennis action on Friday afternoon.
With its fourth consecutive victory, Babson improves to 8-3 overall. Williams, which is also 8-3, had its three-match winning streak snapped in the loss.
Cristiani and Sikarhulidze defeated first-year Ayanna Varma (Livingston, N.J.) and senior Jane Ladaga (Las Vegas, Nev.) 6-4 at number one doubles, while Wang and sophomore
Sarai Dorismond (Carlsbad, Calif.) edged the Ephs' pairing of sophomore Mia Roets (Johannesburg, South Africa) and senior Mia Thomann (Chicago, Ill.) 7-5 at number three to secure the doubles point. Williams got a 6-2 victory from junior Ahn Lin (New York, N.Y.) and first-year Julia Zhang (Bellevue, Wash.) over Beavers' sophomore

The Green and White clinched the match with wins at the first three completed singles matches. Sikharulidze rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over first-year Zoe Yao (Tenafly, N.J.) at number two,
Matia Cristiani was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Thomann at number one and Wang followed with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over sophomore Ellie Stark (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) at number six.
Alessandra Cristiani earned Babson's final point of the afternoon with a 6-3, 7-6 win over Roets at number five.
Zhang was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Shu at number three singles, while Varma beat Beavers' first-year
Tina Liu (Plantation, Fla.) at number four.
Both teams are right back in action at 12 p.m. on Saturday as Babson hosts Emerson, while Williams takes on Middlebury.
MATCH NOTES
• The Beavers are now 1-4 all-time against Williams although Friday's match was the first between the teams since the second round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
• Babson is 6-3 this spring versus nationally-ranked foes and five wins against teams ranked in the top 25.
• The Green and White is 8-0 on the year when claiming the doubles point.
