BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College women's tennis program had eight players honored for their hard work in the classroom when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2025-26 All-America Scholar teams earlier this month. 

Junior Dana Kamal (Cairo, Egypt) was recognized for the third consecutive season, senior Grace Starcher (Morristown, N.J.) and sophomore Mia Sorrentino (Miami, Fla.) were named to the squad for the second year in a row, and the quintet of seniors Matia Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) and Shyla Khattar (New Delhi, India) and first-years Tina Liu (Plantation, Fla.), Elizabeth Shu (Sugar Land, Texas) and Jolie Wang (Los Altos Hills, Calif.) all garnered ITA All-America Scholar laurels for the first time in their respective careers. The Beavers' honorees were among 1,310 Division III student-athletes that concluded the 2025-26 academic year with a grade-point average of at least 3.50. 

Along with the individual accolades, head coach Emma Hall's squad was one of 177 Division III programs to earn ITA All-Academic Team thanks to its 3.54 GPA during the 2025-26 academic year. 

An eight-time ITA All-American, Cristiani capped her career by winning the program's first NCAA singles title and advancing to her fourth consecutive NCAA doubles final before being selected as the ITA Division III Player of the Year. She went 37-0 in singles and 38-3 in doubles while setting new single-season school records for wins. 

Starcher went 5-4 in singles and 6-3 in doubles, which included a victory alongside Kamal at number three as the Beavers defeated seventh-ranked MIT to claim their first NEWMAC title since 2014 back in May. Kamal, who was selected as the NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, went 9-5 in singles and 17-7 in doubles. 

Sorrentino finished with a 6-5 record in singles and a 14-5 mark in doubles, while the rookie trio of Liu, Shu and Wang all recorded key victories as Babson reached the NCAA Tournament semifinals for the first time in program history. Liu was 15-11 in singles, Shu went 9-3 in both singles and doubles, and Wang ended the year with 16 victories apiece in singles and doubles. 

Babson finished a historic 2025-26 campaign at 19-5 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament semifinals for the first time in school history after capturing its first NEWMAC Tournament championship since 2014.
