• Babson and Mitchell will meet for the first time on Wednesday night.
SCOUTING THE MARINERS
• Mitchell (0-1) officially opened its season with a 91-68 loss at Coast Guard on Saturday.
• Elijah Baidoo and Hunter Baillargeon both scored 16 points to lead the Mariners, who were held without a field goal over the first seven-plus minutes of the second half.
• Mitchell brings back seven players from a team that went 12-15 and suffered a two-point loss in the NECC Tournament final, highlighted by junior Jalen Benson, who had 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the season opener and averaged 9.5 points on 54.1 percent shooting last winter.
• Junior Jacob Tully averaged 5.6 points a year ago for the Mariners, who lost a trio of double-digit scorers and four of their five starters.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (4-0) rolled to a 97-55 win over Lasell in the finale of a two-game series on Sunday inside Staake Gymnasium.
• Junior Max Gussen scored a career-high 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and senior Andrew Jaworski added 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Beavers, who shot 59.7 percent for the game.
• Jaworski (17.8 pts, 6.5 reb, 5.0 ast) leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists, junior James Welch (14.8 pts, 2.5 reb) is shooting 62.5 percent from the floor, and classmate Colin Bradanese is averaging 14.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
• The Green and White has scored at least 80 points in every one of its first four games.
RISE AND FIRE
• The Green White made a season-high 15 three-pointers in Saturday's 80-72 win over Lasell, and its 37 attempts from beyond the arc were the program's most in a decade.
• The Beavers followed it up with 14 triples more triples on Sunday and are shooting 41.4 from long distance as a team through four games.
THREE AT A TIME
• Welch went 5-of-8 from beyond the arc for the second time in four games this season in Saturday's win.
• He is shooting 59.1 percent from long distance, which ranks 10th in Division III, and his 13 three-pointers are just four shy of the 17 he made last year in 201 minutes of action.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• Jaworski enters Wednesday's game ranked 19th on Babson's all-time scoring list with 1,113 points after passing Babson Hall of Famer Matt Miller '93 (1,109), Glenn Witkoski '96 (1,109) and Bradley Jacks '18 (1,107) in last Sunday's win.
• He also remains eighth in school history with 142 career three-point field goals.
NUMBER TO KNOW
• Despite attempting just 13 free throws in two games, the Beavers averaged 1.19 points per possession against Lasell last weekend.
