Amado and Stoddard Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Recent Babson College men's basketball graduates Nate Amado '25 and Alex Stoddard M'25 were honored for their hard work I in the classroom when they were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court on Thursday. 

Along with the individual accolades, the Beavers received NABC Team Academic Excellence recognition after finishing the year with a 3.XX team grade-point average. 

Amado and Stoddard were among more than 2,400 players to earn a spot on the NABC Honors Court. In order to be selected, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior or graduate student with at least a 3.2 GPA or higher at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.

An NABC District II first-team and D3hoop.com Region II second-team selection, Amado averaged 8.6 points and career highs of 8.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals to go along with 1.1 blocks in 26 starts this past winter. He ranked 11th in the region in scoring, eighth in rebounding, 11th in blocked shots and was 17th shooting a career-best 51.4 percent from the field.  

Amado, who earned All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) honors for the second year in a row, scored in double figures 24 times in 26 games, which includes scoring at least 20 points in 12 outings, and set a new career high with eight double-doubles, which ranked second in the NEWMAC and ninth in the region. One of just five players in program history to surpass 1,500 points and 650 rebounds, Amado ranks second in program history in blocked shots (92), seventh in scoring (1,521 points) and made field goals (580) and ninth with 664 rebounds. 

Stoddard, who transferred to Babson following a successful four-year career at Williams College, averaged 10.5 points and 3.2 rebounds while starting 14 of 24 contests. He scored in double figures 12 times including three games of 20 points or more, and finished second on the team with 53 three-point field goals. 

Babson concluded the 2024-25 campaign with a record of 16-10 after falling to Coast Guard in the NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinals back in February.
