Baseball Receives ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College baseball program was honored for its success in the classroom earning American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence accolades presented by Sports Attack late last month.

Led by head coach Matt Noone, the Beavers wrapped up the 2025-26 academic year with a 3.38 team grade-point average. The Green and White, which was recognized for the sixth consecutive season, was among more than 500 college programs to receive Team Academic Excellence honors from the ABCA.

In order to earn recognition, teams must be coached by an ABCA member and have a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for the entire academic year.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949, and the ABCA's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional & National Coaches of the Year and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.

Babson closed the season by winning 11 of its final 14 games on the way to capturing its second New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship in the past three seasons and reaching the NCAA Tournament before finishing with an overall record of 27-17.
