BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College graduate student Joe Carrea (Cranford, N.J.), junior Jason Finkelstein (Walpole, Mass.) and sophomore Chase Burrows (Cream Ridge, N.J.) were recognized for their success on the field and in the classroom with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors on Tuesday.

Finkelstein was named to the CSC Academic All-District team for the second year in a row, while both Carrea and Burrows were honored for the first time.

He also allowed just three extra-base hits during this stretch and just six doubles and two home runs on the year.

A two-time all-league selection, Finkelstein is 16-7 with a 3.84 earned run average and 143 strikeouts over 173.1 innings pitched over three seasons at Babson. He is tied for fourth on the program's career wins list and ranks sixth in strikeouts.

A transfer from the University of Connecticut, Carrea made 13 appearances on the year going 3-3 with a 6.43 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 49.0 innings pitched. He pitched at least six innings in four of his eight starts and allowed just two earned runs over 8.0 innings in victories at Coast Guard on March 29 and against Clark on April 25.

Carrea, who finished second on the team in strikeouts, ended the year with a 4.18 strikeout-to-walk ratio and issued just 2.02 walks per nine innings. He also recorded at least six strikeouts in three of his final four starts, including a season-high 10 over 6.0

Burrows made 10 appearances on the mound and finished the year with a 4-1 record to go along with a 5.65 earned run average in 43.0 innings. He recorded 28 strikeouts against just seven walks and tossed the Beavers' only complete game of the year with six strikeouts while allowing just one run against MIT on April 11. Additionally, Burrows went at least seven innings in three of his seven starts, had a 4.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio and issued just 1.47 walks per nine innings.
