BABSON PARK, Mass.—Six members of the Babson College men's tennis program were honored for their success in the classroom when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2025-26 All-America Scholar recipients earlier this month. 

Senior Martin Mejia (Cali, Colombia) and junior Mattias Harrell (Oslo, Norway) were both recognized for the third consecutive season, senior Alexander Merson (Palisades Park, N.J.) and sophomore Edward Wang (Burr Ridge, Ill.) were named to the team for the second year in a row, and first-years Sourish Gadhi (Morganville, N.J.) and Max Lidman (Stockholm, Sweden) were honored for the first time. The Beavers' six student-athletes were among 1,151 Division III players to finish the 2025-26 academic year with a grade-point average of 3.50 or better. 

In addition to the individual honors, head coach Michael Kopelman's squad was one of 147 Division III men's tennis program's to claim ITA All-Academic Team distinction. Babson concluded the year with a 3.34 GPA.

Merson, who was tabbed as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Year back in May, and Wang became the program's first NCAA Singles Championship qualifiers since 1998 following an impressive 2025-26 campaign. An ITA All-America singles selection, Merson went 19-3 in singles and 17-7 in doubles, while Wang, who paired with sophomore Sebastian Mendoza (Weston, Fla.) to claim the Beavers' first ITA New England Championships doubles title in early October while earning the program's first All-America honors in doubles, finished the year with records of 17-8 in singles and 28-8 in doubles. 

Mejia went 6-0 in NEWMAC doubles matches on the way to earning all-league honors for the first time in his career, while Gadhi and Lidman both played key roles in helping Babson repeat as conference champions. Gadhi went 15-6 in singles play and Lidman was 9-6 in singles and 9-7 in doubles. Harrell did not compete in any matches while recovering from injury. 

Babson reached its second consecutive NCAA Tournament regional final and wrapped up the year at 19-5 after falling to sixth-ranked Bowdoin back in May.
