Maxim Zlobinsky (Greenvale, N.Y.) won matches in both singles and doubles as No. 15 Babson College blanked Springfield College, 7-0, and earned its second straight the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's tennis regular season title Saturday afternoon at the Babson Tennis Courts.
The Beavers won their fifth straight match and improved to 16-4 overall and 7-0 in NEWMAC matches. Springfield dropped its second match in a row and completes the regular season at 10-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

Rishi Batlanki (Monroe Township, N.J.), sophomore
Mason Nguyen (El Dorado Hills, Calif.), and graduate student
Ryan Patrick (Darien, Conn.) all posted singles victories for the Beavers, who will be the top seed in next week's NEWMAC Championships.
The Green and White captured the doubles point with victories in all three matches. Merson and Zlobinsky breezed to a 6-0 win at number one, Mendoza and sophomore
Edward Wang (Burr Ridge, Ill.) produced a 6-4 triumph at number two, and senior
Martin Mejia (Cali, Columbia) and junior
Louis Bourn (Geneva, Switzerland) outlasted sophomore Liam Huppke (Markham, Canada) and junior Angelo Guzman (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) at number three, 7-5.
The hosts swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Merson knocked off Guzman in the top flight, 6-1, 6-4; Zlobinsky downed first-year Austin Prendiville (City Beach, Australia) by the same score at number two; and Mendoza rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number three, 6-0, 6-1.
Batlanki was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at number four, Nguyen took the number five match, 6-1, 6-4, and Patrick rounded out the victory with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at number six.
As the top seed, Babson earns a first-round bye in the NEWMAC Tournament and will host a semifinal match on Friday at the Babson Tennis Courts. Springfield will be the No. 3 seed and will travel to No. 2 MIT for the other semifinal on Friday.
MATCH NOTES
• The Beavers have won 13 straight and 18 of the last 19 matches against Springfield and are 23-5 all-time against the Pride in a series that dates back to 2000.
