WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H.—Junior Julia Wiacek (Little Neck, N.Y.) came in second and the Babson College women's alpine ski team had five competitors finish among the top eight on the way to winning the giant slalom at Waterville Valley on Sunday afternoon.

The Beavers' top three finishers were 0.90 seconds ahead of second-place Castleton to capture their second victory of the season and first since winning the giant slalom at Sunday River back on January 13.

Wiacek finished with a time of 2:11.81, first-year Quinn Dennehy (Mendon, Vt.) was a spot behind her in third with a time of 2:13.52 and sophomore Sonnie Travis (Park City, Utah) placed fifth with a time of 2:14.51. Fellow sophomore Ava Butler (Goshen, Conn.) came in seventh with a time of 2:15.33, which was just 0.04 seconds ahead of first-year Camryn Knowlton (Montreal, Quebec), and sophomore Riley Jerome (Bethel, Maine) finished 15th with a time of 2:21.79.

Babson returns to action next Saturday and Sunday when they travel to Sugarloaf for the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships.
