BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College men's tennis team was picked to repeat as champions when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released its annual preseason coaches' poll on Wednesday.
The defending champion and 12th-ranked Beavers received seven of the eight first-place votes to finish atop the voting. Last year's runner-up and 29th-ranked MIT receiver the remaining top vote to finish runner-up. Springfield and Clark rounded out the top half of the poll.
Babson is coming off a program-best 2025 campaign that included a 22-3 overall record, a 7-0 conference mark, and claiming its first NEWMAC title since 2021 and the second in program history. The Beavers went on to win a pair of NCAA Tournament matches to reach the national quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
Led by eighth-year head coach
Michael Kopelman, the Beavers (2-0, 1-0 NEWMAC) will open the spring schedule at No. 20 Rensselaer on February 21 in Troy, N.Y.
