WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's alpine ski teams are set to open the 2026 campaign with a pair of MacConnell Division races at Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine, on Monday and Tuesday.
• The Beavers will compete in the giant slalom on Monday and the slalom on Tuesday at Sunday River, which has not hosted MacConnell Division regular season races in more than 25 years.
• The races at Sunday River kick off five carnivals over the span of four weeks for Babson and its MacConnell Division rivals.
LOOKING BACK ON 2025
• In his first season as head coach at Babson,
Brett Batchelder led both the men's and women's squads tremendous success in 2025.
• The men won all 10 MacConnell Division races to capture their first division title since 1993, claimed their third USCSA Eastern Regional title since 2022 and then finished a program-best second in the USCSA National Championships, which was highlighted by junior
Mads Fondevik Syversen winning the Beavers' first national title in the slalom.
• On the women's side, the Beavers came in second in the MacConnell Division, posted a seventh consecutive top-two showing at the regional championships and then placed third for the third time in four seasons at nationals.
LAST TIME AT SUNDAY RIVER
• Babson's races at Sunday River will be their first since competing in the NCAA Regional Championships back on February 24-25, 2017.
• Sean Robinson '20 was one of three men to compete for the Beavers placing 31st in the slalom a day after coming in 45th in the giant slalom.
• One of two skiers to compete for the Babson women, Tatum Alkier '18 placed 30th in the slalom and 57th in the GS.
ABOUT THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers return six of last year's top finishers and seven competitors in all from a team that won all 10 MacConnell Division races last winter.
• Syversen won four of the first five MacConnell Division races of 2025 and earned All-America honors in the slalom, giant slalom and combined standings, while senior
Elliot Perretta recorded two victories and five podium finishes before placing fourth in the GS and seventh in the slalom on the way to collecting three All-America awards at the USCSA National Championships.

James Rosenbloom finished atop the podium seven times in 10 MacConnell Division races and also earned three All-America honors, while classmate
Connor Roy garnered all-league honors after placing among the top eight seven times.

Sebastian Sheppard recorded eight top-20 results, sophomore
Jett Sheppard placed among the top 25 four times and senior
Finn Horsley returns to action after securing All-America honors at the 2024 USCSA National Championships.
ABOUT THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers return four All-MacConnell Division performers and five skiers in all from a team that recorded four victories and five runner-up finishes in 10 league races last winter.
• Sophomore
Camryn Knowlton nine top-10 results on the way to placing sixth in the MacConnell Division standings, while junior
Julia Wiacek posted three podium finishes in league competition and earned All-America honors in both the slalom and combined standings at the USCSA National Championships at Mount Bachelor.
• Junior
Sonnie Travis, the 2024 MacConnell Division Rookie of the Year, placed ninth or better six times in 10 league races and recorded the team's top showing in the giant slalom (4th), slalom (5th) and combined (4th) at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at Sugarloaf.
• Junior
Ava Butler claimed all-league accolades for the second year in a row thanks to seven top-15 results, and classmate
Riley Jerome finished 16th in the MacConnell Division standings after recording six top-15 showings.
STREAKING BEAVERS
• The Babson men enter the 2026 campaign having won 10 consecutive MacConnell Division races while posting 19 straight top-two finishes going back to January 13, 2024.
• The Babson women won their final three MacConnell Division races of 2025 and have finished either first or second 18 times in 20 league races going back to the start of the 2024 season.
TRADITION OF SUCCESS
• The Babson women have posted nine consecutive top-three finishes in the MacConell Division regular standings and at the USCSA regional championships, and have finished no worse than fifth at nationals going back to 2016.
• The Babson men own 12 straight top-three results in league competition and eight consecutive top-three finishes at regionals. They have also finished sixth or better in four of their last eight trips to nationals.
UP NEXT
• The Beavers travel to Andover, N.H., for back-to-back days of slalom races at Proctor Ski Area on January 16-17.
