Brett Batchelder is in his second season as the head coach for the men's and women's alpine ski teams at Babson in 2025-26.
The Beavers achieved outstanding success under Batchelder in his first season. The men's squad captured United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional titles in both slalom and combined before finishing runner-up at the USCSA national championships in slalom, giant slalom and combined. The women's program finished second at the Eastern Regionals in both giant slalom and combined before earning top four showings at the nationals in all three categories.
Five Babson skiers earned USCSA All-America honors under Batchelder (Mads Fondevik Syverson, Elliot Perretta, James Rosenbloom, Amelie Alkier, Julia Wiacek), including a national championship in the slalom by Syverson.
Batchelder, who has served as an assistant ski coach at the Noble & Greenough School since 2017, is a former competitor and coach for the United States Ski team. He also has nearly three decades of experience in the private sector in investment banking and private equity.
Batchelder was a World Cup level competitor for the U.S. Ski team in the downhill in 1988 and 1989 before coaching at the highest level for another five years. He served as the men's B team coach for the French National team in 1991 and was involved with the U.S. Ski Team from 1992-95, which included coaching the U.S. men's team at the 1992 Albertville Olympics and a gold medal winner at the 1993 World Championships.
A 1999 graduate of the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire, Batchelder currently serves as the Head of Americas Private Equity for Wipro, a role he took on in January 2022. He also has held positions with Ashling Partners, UiPath and Dell/EMC Corporation over the last two decades.
