PROVIDENCE, R.I.— After helping his team to a weekend sweep, Babson College sophomore
Evan Brown (Little Silver, N.J.) was named Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Brown put together a four-point weekend with a pair of game-winning goals and two assists to help No. 10 Babson remain unbeaten on the road. He scored the go-ahead goal at 7:52 of the third period in the Beavers' 4-1 victory at UMass Dartmouth on Friday night and followed it up with three points, including an assist on the tying goal at 18:59 of the third period and the game-winning tally with 50 seconds left in OT in Saturday's 5-4 triumph at UMass Boston.
The sophomore right wing has accumulated six goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 16 games this season and leads the LEC in assists and points. He is tied for fifth in Division III in assists per game (1.00) and ranks 20th in points per game (1.38).
Babson (12-2-2, 7-1-1 LEC) returns home for a pair of LEC games this weekend, hosting Western Connecticut on Friday at 7 p.m. and Keene State on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Babson Skating Center.
