Baseball's Teator Garners Rawlings/ABCA and D3baseball.com Region I Recognition

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.—Babson College junior Zander Teator (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was named to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3baseball.com Region I teams on Tuesday afternoon.

Teator earned second-team all-region honors from both the ABCA and D3baseball.com for the first time in his career. He also is Babson's first two-way player to earn all-region honors since Dave Ahern '11 garnered first-team ABCA recognition back in 2011.

One of the top relief pitchers in the region over the last two seasons, Teator also made his mark at the plate this spring batting a team-best .386 with 11 doubles, four home runs, a team-leading 34 RBI and 29 runs scored in 23 starts. He led the team in on-base percentage (.472), slugging (.670) and OPS (1.142) and recorded at least one hit in 15 of 16 games from April 2-29.

Teator led the Beavers with 11 multi-RBI games in his 23 starts and also tied for third on the team with 11 multi-hit games.

In addition to his success at the dish, Teator was terrific out of the bullpen recording six saves to go along with a 2.16 earned run average in 16 appearances. He struck out 14 over 16.2 innings and held opposing hitters to a .200 average while finishing the year with a 1.08 WHIP.

In two seasons as Babson's closer, Teator is 4-1 with 12 saves and a 2.39 ERA in 31 appearances. He has 40 strikeouts against just 10 walks in 37.2 innings and has held opposing hitters to a .167 average to go along with a  0.88 WHIP.

Babson concluded its season with an overall record of 23-13 after falling to MIT in the opening round of the NEWMAC Tournament.
