No. 24 Baseball Hosts Suffolk on Wednesday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 28-18 all-time against the Rams in a series that dates back to 1977.
•    The Beavers have won three straight and 10 of the last 12 meetings between the teams, which includes a 13-3 victory back on March 26. 
•    Each of the last five meetings between the Green and White and Rams since 2019 have been played in Babson Park. 

LAST MEETING
•    Junior Zander Teator and sophomore Ryan Liss both provided a three-run homer and combined to drive in seven runs as the Beavers defeated Suffolk, 13-3, in eight innings on March 26 in Babson Park. 
•    Senior Walter Sadowsky went 2-for-4 with two RBI and graduate student Brant Savage and sophomore Dante D'Avanzo both added two hits and an RBI apiece for the Beavers, who got five shutout innings of one-hit relief from first-year Chase Burrows
•    Max Iorio, Sam Armbruster and Jack Mihalchik all recorded RBI singles as part of a three-run third inning for the Rams, who gave up six two-out runs in the sixth following an error. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    No. 29 ABCA Babson (13-6) earned a split of last Friday's doubleheader at Clark by defeating the Cougars 13-2 in seven innings. 
•    Senior Justin Guest went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs, and Teator was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI in support of sophomore Jason Finkelstein, who struck out five in a complete-game effort for the Beavers. 
•    Teator is batting .448 with three homers, four doubles, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored, Liss is hitting .338 with three home runs, six doubles and 20 runs batted in, and Guest owns a .329 average to go along with seven doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI and 18 runs scored. 
•    Burrows is 4-0 with a 2.70 ERA and a 0.77 WHIP in 23.1 innings, graduate student Tristen Spalter (2-2, 5.20 ERA), has 21 strikeouts against just five walks in 27.2 innings, and the duo of senior Luke McClintock (1 save, 2.25 ERA) and Teator (4 saves, 3.38 ERA) have both made seven relief appearances and are holding opposing hitters to a .152 average.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
•    Suffolk (7-15) has dropped its last three games after falling 7-1 to Nichols in the nightcap of Sunday's doubleheader. 
•    Chris Cimino went 2-for-2 with an RBI double and two walks, and Armbruster singled twice for the Rams, who were limited to just five hits in the loss. 
•    Cimino is batting .319 with two doubles, 12 RBI and nine runs scored, Max Martin is hitting .299 with five doubles, a homer, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored, and Armbruster owns a .299 average to go along with five extra-base hits and 12 runs batted in. 
•    TJ Dimitriou is 0-3 with a 4.95 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 20.0 innings, Jack Raimo is 2-0 with two saves and a 4.91 ERA in seven relief appearances, and Nick Arnett (1-1, 7.58 ERA) has one complete game and 16 strikeouts in 19.0 innings pitched on the year. 

STREAKING BEAVERS
•    Sadowsky has a hit in 11 consecutive games dating back to March 15, while Santos has reached base safely in each of his 14 starts this spring. 
•    Liss has been in base in 13 consecutive games and first-year Gabe Cushner, who is batting .405 with a .479 OBP this season, has reached successfully in all 12 of his starts to begin the year. 
•    Teator has at least one extra-base hit and one RBI in three consecutive games, while Guest has scored a run in each of the last three contests. 

QUALITY INNINGS
•    Burrows, who did not allow a hit after the second inning and retired 15 of the final 17 batters he faced last Wednesday against Trinity, ranks third in Division III in walks per nine innings (0.39) and 11th in WHIP. 
•    Finkelstein is 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 13.0 innings over his last two starts. 
•    McClintock has not allowed a hit over his last four relief appearances and going back to last year he boasts a 2.51 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .176 average in 44.0 innings of work. 

TRENDS TO WATCH
•    The Beavers are batting .278 with runners in scoring position this spring and .288 in nine games since returning from Florida. 
•    The Babson pitching staff ranks 29th in WHIP (1.35) and 33rd in hits allowed per nine innings (8.48) entering Wednesday's contest. 
•    Liss and Guest lead the Green and White with seven multi-hit games apiece, while Sadowsky, Savage and Liss are tied for the team lead with five multi-RBI games. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 5-0 on the year and 26-3 over the last two seasons at Govoni Field. 
•    Babson is 12-1 this spring when allowing five runs or fewer. 
•    The Green and White is 11-0 this season and 56-2 since the start of the 2023 campaign when leading after six innings. 
•    The Beavers are 8-2 on the year when finishing with more hits than their opponents.
