Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. — The 14th-ranked Babson College women's tennis team surrendered just two games overall on the way to a 7-0 defeat of Clark University a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match Wednesday afternoon at the Corash Tennis Courts.

With the win, the Beavers captured their second straight victory and improved to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the NEWMAC, while Clark fell to 2-13 overall and 0-6 in conference play.

The Beavers had no trouble in winning the point in doubles, sweeping all three sets by 6-0 scores. Senior Olivia Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and junior Matia Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) improved to 15-2 on the season with a win over sophomores Winifred Gakidis (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) and Olivia Shipley (Winchendon, Mass.) at number one. Sophomore Chaniel Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and first-year Alessandra Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) cruised to a victory over first-year Amanda Keith (Brookfield, Conn.) and sophomore Varvara Maltseva (Tres Cantos, Mass.) and number two, and sophomore Dana Kamal (Cairo, Egypt) and first-year Mia Sorrentino (Miami, Fla.) completed the sweep with a verdict over first-years Chau Quach (Paxton, Mass.) and Elena Zhakov (Maastricht , Netherlands) at number three.

Alessandra Cristiani and sophomore Riya Matharoo (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) started the singles matches off with a pair of 6-0, 6-0 victories at numbers two and six, and junior Grace Starcher (Morristown, N.J.) posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at number five. Matia Cristiani won 6-0, 6-0 at number one, first-year Sarai Dorismond (Carlsbad, Calif.) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number four, and junior Kamila Stasiowska (Burlington, Conn.) was victorious at number three, 6-1, 6-0.

The Green and White returns home for a key NEWMAC match against No. 16 MIT on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Babson Tennis Courts. Clark is home again on Saturday, hosting Emerson in a conference match at 2:30 p.m.
