Chaniel Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) all recorded wins in both singles and doubles to help 15th-ranked Babson College defeat No. 17 Case Western Reserve University, 5-2, in non-conference women's tennis action on Saturday at the Woodruff PE Center Tennis Courts.
Babson, which has won three of its last four matches, improves to 8-3 on the year. Case Western Reserve had its three-match winning streak snapped to dip to 11-4 on the year.
The Beavers swept all three doubles matches to take the first point of the match, highlighted by
Olivia Soffer and
Matia Cristiani topping Lily McCloskey (Oakwood, Ohio) and Katalina Wang (Venetia, Pa.) 7-5 at number one.

Alessandra Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) were 6-3 winners over Laurel Utterback (North Canton, Ohio) and Katie Wong (East Brunswick, N.J.) at number two, while the duo of sophomore
Dana Kamal (Cairo, Egypt) and first-year
Mia Sorrentino (Miami, Fla.) edged Anna Kan (Canfield, Ohio) and Asha Shukla (Cary, N.C.) at number three, 6-4.
Olivia Soffer was a 6-3, 7-5 winner over McCloskey at number one singles and
Matia Cristiani earned her second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-1 rout of Utterback at number two.
Chaniel Soffer downed Wang in three sets at number three, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, and junior
Kamila Stasiowska (Burlington, Conn.) rolled to a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at number four singles.
The Spartans' singles points came at number four where Kan beat
Alessandra Cristiani 6-2, 6-3, and at number six where Sorrentino fell to Wong, 6-1, 6-4.
Babson returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Clark at 3:30 p.m., while Case remains in Atlanta to take on No. 3 Emory on Sunday at 12 p.m.
MATCH NOTES
• Saturday's match was the first all-time for Babson against Case Western Reserve.
• With Saturday's win and Friday's loss to No. 3 Emory, the Beavers are now 5-3 on the year against top-40 teams.
