D3baseball.com Release

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College junior Zander Teator (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Wednesday morning.

Teator, who was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Pitcher of the Week on Monday, was terrific in a pair of high-leverage spots out of the bullpen over the weekend recording a pair of saves while not allowing a hit in two innings of work. He worked around an error to close out a 5-3 win over No. 26 Transylvania on Saturday and recorded a strikeout to secure the Beavers' 5-4 victory over then-No. 13/11 Baldwin Wallace on Sunday.

In addition to his work on the mound, Teator went 4-for-8 at the plate with two home runs, a triple, five RBI and five runs scored in a pair of starts. His first career home run was a second-inning grand slam in Babson's 16-3 rout of Hope in the season opener last Friday.

Teator, who emerged as one of the top closers in the region last season, is 4-1 with eight saves, a 2.35 earned run average and 27 strikeouts in 23.0 innings of work in 18 appearances since the beginning of last season. He is holding hitters to a .125 average in his career and has not allowed a run in 14.1 innings over his last 11 appearances dating back to April 16 of last year.

No. 24 D3baseball.com/No. 30 ABCA Babson (3-0) is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Salem State for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
