MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— Following his top-notch performance on the opening weekend of the season, Babson College junior Zander Teator (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon.

A pitcher/infielder for the Beavers, Teator was superb out of the bullpen coming into a pair of tight games and recording two saves while striking out one and not allowing a hit in either outing for No. 30 Babson. He worked around an error to toss a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 5-3 win over No. 26 Transylvania and followed it up by recording one strikeout to help secure a 5-4 victory over No. 13/11 Baldwin Wallace on Sunday.

Teator also had a solid weekend at the plate, batting .500 (4-for-8) with two home runs, a triple, five RBI and five runs scored while slugging 1.500. He hit a second-inning grand slam and added another home run and a triple while driving in five runs in Friday's 16-3 win over Hope and followed it up by reaching base twice and scoring a pair of runs before taking the mound in the ninth in Saturday's victory over No. 26 Transylvania.

The Beavers (3-0, 0-0 NEWMAC) will be back on the diamond with a non-conference doubleheader at Salem State this Saturday, beginning at 12 p.m.
