Amelie Alkier (Collingwood, Ontario) recorded her highest finish of the season by coming in second to help the Babson College women's alpine ski team place first in the slalom at Berkshire East Mountain on Saturday afternoon.
The Beavers, who have won back-to-back MacConnell Division races, finished nearly five seconds ahead of second-place Castleton.
Alkier posted a two-run time of 1:37.36 to finish just 0.36 seconds off the pace of Emilie Reinert Stene of Castleton. Sophomore
Sonnie Travis (Park City, Utah) came in fourth with a time of 1:38.68 and first-year
Camryn Knowlton (Montreal, Quebec) placed sixth with a time of 1:39.66.
Senior
Alli Messier (Sherborn, Mass.) finished seventh with a time of 1:42.46 and sophomore
Ava Butler (Goshen, Conn.) came in ninth with her time of 1:43.96. Fellow sophomore
Riley Jerome (Bethel, Maine) put together a two-run time of 1:45.07 to finish in 11th position.
Babson travels to Catamount Mountain for its final race of the regular season on Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
