SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 63-25 all-time against MIT in a series that dates back to the 1978-79 campaign.
• The Beavers have won eight in row versus the Engineers since 2020, which includes four consecutive meetings inside Staake Gymnasium.
• Ten of the last 16 games between the Green and White and MIT have been decided by seven points or fewer or in overtime dating back to 2017.
LAST MEETING
• Graduate student Felix Kloman poured in 26 points and senior Nate Amado contributed 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists to help Babson cruise to a 103-68 win over MIT on January 11 in Cambridge, Mass.
• First-year Timmy Mulvey scored 11 points and sophomore NeJohn Fortes and first-year Logan Murphy chipped in with eight points apiece for the Beavers, who shot a season-best 57.5 percent and pulled away with a 29-8 run that spanned parts of both halves.
• Rome Delgado Gonzalez scored 13 points, Tim Minicozzi had 12 points and Parker Spann added 11 points for the Engineers, who committed 18 turnovers and were outrebounded 40-21 in the loss.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (12-8, 6-5 NEWMAC) has dropped two straight games and suffered a 91-70 loss to Clark on Saturday afternoon.
• Amado scored 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting and Kloman came off the bench to contribute 15 points for the Beavers, who were just 7-of-20 from three-point range (35 percent) and got outscored 53-35 in the second half.
• Amado (19.3 pts, 8.1 reb, 2.8 ast, 1.6 stl) ranks first in the conference in scoring and second in rebounding while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor, Kloman (18.5 pts, 4.0 reb, 2.4 ast) is third in the league in scoring and returned from a five-game absence last Saturday, graduate student Alex Stoddard is averaging 10.6 points and 3.0 rebounds, and Mulvey (10.1 pts, 2.6 ast) is tied for second in the NEWMAC with 48 three-point field goals.
• The Green and White ranks first in conference play in scoring offense averaging 76.7 points and fewest turnovers (11.4), and is second in field goal percentage (45.3).
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• MIT (9-11, 3-8 NEWMAC) snaped a five-game losing streak with a 69-66 win over Salve Regina on Saturday.
• Delgado-Gonzalez scored a game-high 21 points, including the go-ahead layup with 49 seconds left, and Spencer Lin and Isaac Dobie both added 15 points for the Engineers, who shot 49.1 percent on the day and outscored the Seahawks 36-26 in the paint.
• Dobie (15.1 pts, 4.2 reb, 2.1 stl) ranks third in the conference in steals and sixth in scoring, Delgado-Gonzalez (12.7 pts, 4.6 reb, 2.6 ast) is shooting 54.6 percent from the floor and Lin (11.8 pts, 4.9 reb, 4.5 ast) leads the team with 39 three-pointers and is second in the league in assists.
• MIT is shooting a league-best 46 percent but has committed 16.7 turnovers while allowing 80.2 over its first 11 NEWMAC contests.
MOVING UP THE CHARTS
• One of just five players in Babson history with at least 1,400 points and 600 rebounds, Amado ranks 10th all-time in scoring (1,424 points) and is ninth with 611 rebounds.
• He also ranks second on the career list with 85 blocks, is eighth in made field goals (546) and 13th with 103 three-point field goals.
HOME STREAK SNAPPED
• Prior to Saturday's loss to Clark, the Beavers had won six consecutive home games this winter and seven straight against NEWMAC foes dating back to last January inside Staake Gymnasium.
• The Green and White scored at least 70 points for the ninth game in a row at home but struggled on the defensive end allowing 1.30 points per possession as Clark shot 15-of-20 (75 percent) from three-point range.
• The 91 points allowed by Babson are the most it has given up in regulation since suffering a 97-88 loss to Endicott on November 18, 2018.
• Despite Saturday's loss, the Beavers boast a 111-28 record, which is good for a .799 winning percentage inside Staake Gymnasium going back to the start of the 2014-15 campaign.
STREAKING BEAVERS
• Amado has reached double figures in scoring 15 straight games dating back to December 1, which includes putting up 20 or more points seven times and topping the 30-point mark twice during this stretch.
• Kloman has knocked down a three-pointer in all 15 games he's played in this winter, while Mulvey has made at least one three-pointer in 12 straight contests since December 29.
• Stoddard has scored in double figures in three straight games at home and is averaging 17.0 points on 53.6 percent shooting during this stretch.
