Men’s Basketball Reveals 2026-27 Schedule

BABSON PARK, Mass.— Coming off three New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships in the last four years, Babson College veteran head men's basketball coach Stephen Brennan officially unveiled his program's 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.

The Beavers will face a challenging 16-game NEWMAC slate and will take the court in seven games against teams that competed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, including Final Four participants Trinity (Connecticut) and Christopher Newport.

A highlight on this year's schedule is participating in the inaugural Division III Champions Classic, which is designed to become the premier in-season national event in Division III men's basketball. This year's tourney includes Babson, Christopher Newport, Randolph-Macon and Scranton, which have combined for five Division III national championships in 12 trips to the Final Four.

Babson will open the season against a pair of local rivals, hosting Lasell on November 7 and visiting Brandeis on November 11. The Beavers will welcome UMass Dartmouth on November 14 before traveling to NCAA Tournament foes Worcester State on November 19 and Tufts on November 22 and facing Johnson & Wales on November 24 in Providence.

After a quick break for Thanksgiving, the Green and White will play a pair of NCAA Tournament teams the first week of December, including the NEWMAC opener against WPI on December 2 in Babson Park and at Trinity on December 5 in Hartford, Conn. The Beavers will head to Glen Allen, Va. for the DIII Champions Classic, where they will face Randolph-Macon on December 28 and Christopher Newport on December 29.

NEWMAC play resumes in January with the Beavers traveling to Clark on January 6, followed by consecutive home games Coast Guard on the 9th and Springfield on the 12th. Then it's back-to-back road games at Wheaton on January 14 and Emerson on January 16, a home tilt against MIT on January 10, and a trip to Salve Regina on January 21 to wind up the first half of the conference slate.

The second half of the NEWMAC schedule starts at WPI (January 23), followed by a home clash vs. Clark (January 30), and road games vs. Coast Guard (February 3) and Springfield (February 6). Three of the last four outings are at Staake Gymnasium for the Beavers, vs. Emerson (February 10), Wheaton (February 13) and Salve Regina (February 20), with the final roadie at MIT sandwiched in on February 17.

The six-team NEWMAC Tournament begins on February 23 with quarterfinal action. The top two seeds will host semifinal contests on February 25 with the winners advancing the championship game at the highest remaining seed on February 27. The NEWMAC champion receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

The Beavers finished with a 22-7 overall record last season and finished second in the conference in the regular season with a 13-3 mark. After claiming the NEWMAC championship with wins over Salve Regina and Wheaton, the Green and White won their NCAA Tournament opener over Saint Joseph's (Maine) before falling to top-ranked and defending champion Trinity in the second round.
