Felix Kloman (Ipswich, Mass.) scored 16 of his game-high 26 points in the first half and visiting Babson College shot a season-best 60.7 percent on the way to defeating Salve Regina University, 88-69, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside the Rodgers Recreation Center.
Babson, which has won two straight and three of its last four games, improves to 15-8 overall and 9-6 in conference play. Salve Regina had its two-game winning streak snapped and drops to 9-14 overall and 6-8 in the NEWMAC.
Kloman was 10-of-14 from the floor and knocked down a career-high six three-pointers to lead four players in double figures for the Beavers. Senior

Alex Stoddard (Wellesley, Mass.) finished with 13 points and first-year
Logan Murphy (Sandwich, Mass.) chipped in with a season-high 12 points in the victory.
Graduate student Brad Fowler (Colden, N.Y.) scored 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, junior Sean Seymour (Albany, N.Y.) added 12 points and senior Declan Walmsley (Franklin, Mass.) chipped in with 11 points to lead the Seahawks.
Kloman made six of his first seven shots and scored 16 points in less than nine minutes to stake the Green and White to a 24-12 lead at the 11:08 mark of the first half. First-year
Ryan Frauenheim (Manasquan, N.J.) scored five straight points to extend the margin to 29-14 less than a minute later and Stoddard followed with a driving layup and back-to-back three-pointers to make it 40-21 with 5:29 to go before halftime.
Murphy canned consecutive triples after Salve Regina had cut the lead to 15 and tacked on two late free throws to give the Beavers a 54-36 edge at the break. Stoddard opened the second half with back-to-back hoops, Amado converted a three-pointer play and Kloman followed up a layup by junior
Timmy O'Toole (Milton, Mass.) with a trifecta to give Babson its largest lead of the game at 66-39 with 16:27 to play.
Seymour cut the Seahawks' deficit to 19 with 6:37 remaining but Amado answered with a driving layup and scored seven consecutive points to push the margin back to 84-60 with less than five minutes to go.
The Beavers shot 67.7 percent in the first half and went 11-of-21 (52.4 percent) from behind the arc in the win. They also finished with a 35-23 edge on the glass and scored 19 points off of 16 Salve Regina turnovers. The Seahawks shot 52 percent from the floor but struggled at the free throw line finishing just 11-of-27 (40.7 percent).
Babson is off until next Saturday when it hosts Coast Guard at 3 p.m., while Salve Regina visits Coast Guard on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are now 14-4 all-time against Salve Regina and have won three of the four games between the teams over the last two seasons.
• Babson is 8-0 on the year when making at least 10 three-pointers.
• The Green and White improves to 11-1 this winter when allowing fewer than 70 points.
• The Beavers' field goal percentage on Saturday was their best since finishing at 61.2 percent in a 104-65 win over Wheaton back on January 15, 2022.
