BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College Director of Tennis
Michael Kopelman announced the addition of
Kartik Erodula as the men's and women's tennis program's new full-time assistant coach on Friday morning.
Erodula comes to Babson following a two-year stint as a tennis professional and coach at the North Haven Health and Raquet Club in North Haven, Conn. He designed and led training programs to enhance player technique, strategy and overall performance emphasizing focus, discipline and confidence under pressure.
Additionally, Erodula conducted regular performance evaluations and created individualized development plans while tracking data to monitor player progress.
"We are thrilled to add Kartik to our staff," commented Kopelman. "I know he will be a valuable resource for our student-athletes. His strong competitive background and passion for the game will be a great asset for Babson tennis."
A 2024 graduate of Trinity College with a B.S. in psychology, Erodula was a four-year member of the Bantams' men's tennis program. He served as captain in each of his final two seasons and helped Trinity qualify for the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Tournament in both 2022 and 2024.
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Kartik to our coaching staff," said Babson women's tennis head coach
Emma Hall. "He brings a fresh perspective and an impressive depth of tennis knowledge. I'm looking forward to working alongside him as we continue to elevate both our men's and women's programs."
Erodula will step into the position held by Alan Dubrovsky, who was named head men's tennis coach at Brandeis University back in September.
The Babson men put together a historic 2024-25 campaign going 22-3 and setting a single-season record for wins while capturing New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season and tournament titles on the way to advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in school history. The Babson women went 15-7 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, while the duo of
Olivia Soffer '25 and senior
Matia Cristiani captured the Beavers' second consecutive NCAA doubles championship last May.
"I'm thrilled to be joining the Babson tennis staff," stated Erodula. "From the very first conversation I had with the head coaches, it was clear how special this program is. I feel fortunate to work alongside Michael and Emma, who are not only brilliant coaches but also outstanding mentors. I am excited to help our student-athletes develop and thrive in an environment that values growth, character, and high-level tennis."
