ROME, Ga.—The Babson College men's tennis duo of sophomores
Sebastian Mendoza (Weston, Fla.) and
Edward Wang (Burr Ridge, Ill.) rallied for a three-set victory in the doubles quarterfinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup on Friday afternoon at the Rome Tennis Center.
Mendoza and Wang dropped the first set and were forced to come from behind to beat the fourth-seeded pairing of Drew Goldman and Jayanth Mallampati from Pomona-Pitzer College 5-7, 6-3, 10-5. The ITA New England doubles champions are now 15-0 this fall and have won both their matches that have gone to three sets.
Mendoza and Wang will now face Matthew Johnstone and Ajay Kartik of Emory in Saturday's semifinals at 3:30 p.m. The Eagles duo has recorded back-to-back three-set wins over their first two matches in Rome.
