WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson men's and women's alpine ski teams make their annual trip to Lake Placid, N.Y., for giant slalom races on Friday and Saturday at Whiteface Mountain.
LAST TIME AT WHITEFACE MOUNTAIN
• The Babson women matched their highest finish in program history by placing third, while the men's squad came in 24th at the USCSA National Championships at Whiteface last March.

Julia Wiacek finished eighth in the GS, seventh in the slalom and fifth in the combined standings, classmate
Sonnie Travis came in 13th in the slalom and fellow sophomore
Ava Butler recorded a 14th-place showing in the combined standings after placing 20th in the GS and 21st in the slalom to lead the Babson women.

Sebastian Sheppard finished 22nd in the slalom for the men.
ABOUT THE BABSON MEN
• The Beavers continued their impressive start by finishing first in both slalom races at Proctor Ski Area last Friday and Saturday.

Mads Fondevik Syversen recorded back-to-back first-place finishes, first-year
James Rosenbloom added a pair of podium finishes by following up Friday's third-place showing with a runner-up result on Saturday, and junior
Elliot Perretta posted consecutive top-five finishes.
• Syversen, who owns three victories in four races, Perretta and Rosenbloom currently hold the top three spots on the MacConnell Division leaderboard, while first-year
Connor Roy sits in eighth position with three top-six finishes to start the season.

Moksh Patel (13th) has recorded four straight top-16 results, while first-year
Jett Sheppard and junior
Sebastian Sheppard enter the weekend in 17th and 18th place, respectively, in the league standings.
ABOUT THE BABSON WOMEN
• The Beavers followed up a second-place finish last Friday by recording their first victory of the season in the slalom at Proctor last Saturday.

Camryn Knowlton came in second and the trio of senior

Alli Messier and sophomore
Riley Jerome finished fourth through sixth for the Green and White, which edged Castleton by 2.23 seconds.
• Knowlton owns four top-10 finishes and is currently fourth in the MacConnell Division standings, one spot ahead of Wiacek, who posted her first podium finish of the year by placing second in last Friday's slalom.
• Alkier boasts three top-10 results and is eighth in the league standings, Messier (11th) and Jerome (12th) are both coming off the highest finishes of their respective careers last Saturday, and Travis, who did not race last weekend, sits in 17th position.
UNCHARTED TERRITORY
• Despite five consecutive runner-up finishes in the league standings, the men have already recorded more regular season victories than any Babson team over the last decade.
• The Beavers have posted three wins four times dating back to 2013 (2022, 2019, 2014, 2013).
HISTORY OF SUCCESS AT WHITEFACE
• Alkier boasts six top-15 finishes in the giant slalom at Whiteface, which includes placing fifth and sixth in two regular season races last January.
• Wiacek and Butler both finished among the top 10 in both regular season races at Whiteface last winter, while Wiacek recorded the top giant slalom result of her career (3rd) in the first of two races last January.
• Senior
Zach Carpenter placed 13th and 14th in two GS competitions last January at Whiteface, while
Sebastian Sheppard came in 18th and 20th in two regular season races in Lake Placid last season.
