ANDOVER, N.H.—Sophomore
Julia Wiacek (Little Neck, N.Y.) finished as the runner-up to help the Babson College women's alpine ski team come in second in the slalom at Proctor Ski Area on Friday afternoon.
The Beavers' top three skiers finished almost seven seconds behind Castleton to post their third runner-up result in as many races to begin the season. UConn came in third just over three seconds ahead of fourth-place Clarkson.
Wiacek finished just 0.19 seconds behind Andrea Rodriguez Elosegui of Castleton with a two-run time of 1:32.99 to record her top result of the season. Senior
Amelie Alkier (Collingwood, Ontario) came in ninth with a time of 1:38.52, while first-year
Camryn Knowlton (Montreal, Quebec) placed 10th in a time of 1:38.76.

Alli Messier (Sherborn, Mass.) finished a season-best 12th with a time of 1:40.29 and sophomore
Riley Jerome (Bethel, Maine) came in 15th crossing the finish line in a time of 1:41.97. Classmate
Ava Butler (Goshen, Conn.) finished her two runs in a time of 1:42.98 to secure 16th position.
Babson will wrap up the weekend with a second slalom race on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
