Men's Basketball Set to Face Albertus Magnus in Thanksgiving Eve Matinee

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 1-2 all-time against Albertus Magnus in a series that dates back to 2016. 
•    The home team has won all three matchups, which includes the Falcons defeating the Beavers by four in 2017 and three last November in New Haven, Conn.
•    The Green and White are looking for its first win in the series since 2016 when current associate head coach Joey Flannery '17 put up 33 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in a 101-81 victory. 

LAST MEETING
•    Justice Washington finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds and Antonio Bonilla added 14 points and four steals to help Albertus Magnus defeat Babson, 75-72, on November 11, 2023, in New Haven. 
•    Tazhon Daniels scored 11 points and Kevin Crawford chipped in with 10 points for the Falcons, who shot 45.6 percent and finished with a 38-24 edge in paint scoring. 
•    Senior Nate Amado scored a career-high 32 points on 11-of-21 shooting and classmate Aidan Horan and junior Timmy O'Toole contributed 10 points apiece for the Beavers, who were outscored 21-7 at the free throw line. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (1-3) has dropped two straight games after squandering a 16-point second-half lead in an 87-82 loss to UMass Dartmouth on Saturday. 
•    Amado scored a game-high 31 points on 10-of-15 shooting and graduate student Felix Kloman had 21 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Beavers, who shot 64.5 percent in the first half and 51.7 percent for the game. 
•    Amado (19.8 pts, 8.8 reb, 4.5 ast) leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists and is shooting 51.6 percent, Kloman (18.0 pts, 4.3 reb, 2.5 blk) has scored in double figures three times in four starts, and first-year Timmy Mulvey (13.8 pts, 3.8 ast) is shooting 52.9 percent from the floor. 
•    The Green and White is averaging 74.0 points on 46.2 percent shooting but has given up 84.0 points in its three losses. 

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
•    Albertus Magnus (2-6) had its two-game winning streak snapped in an 81-63 loss at Wesleyan last Saturday. 
•    Daniels scored a game-high 28 points while dishing out five assists, Lennox Serrano scored 13 points and Deivone Tanksley posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Falcons, who cut a 20-point first-half deficit down to just two early in the second half. 
•    Daniels (15.0 pts, 3.9 ast) has scored in double figures in four straight games despite shooting just 32.7 percent to start the year,  Ray Ford Jr. (13.2 pts, 3.7 reb, 3.2 ast) leads the team with 15 three-pointers and Tanksley (11.4 pts, 9.0 reb) has posted four double-doubles and is averaging 15.3 points and 11.7 rebounds over the last three games. 
•    Albertus Magnus is averaging 76.0 points and attempting more than 25 free throws per game but has allowed its first eight foes to score 84.4 points on 47.5 percent shooting.

EFFICIENT BEAVERS
•    The Green and White is averaging 1.07 points per possession, is scoring 35.0 points per game in the paint and is turning the ball over on just 16.9 percent of its possessions through four games.
•    The Beavers scored a season-high 46 points in the paint in Saturday's loss to UMass Dartmouth and is shooting 55.4 percent on two-point field goal attempts in losses to the Corsairs and Saint Joseph (Conn.). 
•    Babson has been especially good in the first half of games to start the year averaging 1.15 points per possession on 50.9 percent shooting. 

MOVING UP THE CHARTS
•    Amado, who became the 29th player in Babson history to surpass 1,000 points in last year's NEWMAC Tournament final win over Clark, is up to 19th on the Beavers' all-time scoring list with 1,117 points. 
•    Amado also ranks sixth all-time with 66 blocked shots and is just 15 rebounds away from becoming just the 12th place in program history with more than 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.

HOT START
•    Despite going just 1-of-3 in Saturday's loss to UMass Dartmouth, Mulvey ranks eighth in Division III in three-point percentage (60.0) and 12th in three-pointers per game (3.75). 
•    Mulvey has scored in double digits in three of his first four collegiate games while knocking down four or more triples three times. 

BEAVER BITES
•    Sophomore NeJohn Fortes matched his career high with 10 points and grabbed a season-high seven boards in Saturday's loss to UMass Dartmouth. 
•    Junior Jeremiah Paul made his first start of the season against the Corsairs and scored two points in a season-high 20 minutes of action. 
•    Amado has scored in double figures in each of his last 12 games going back to last year. 
•    The Green and White logged a season-high 10 steals against UMass Dartmouth. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    Each of the Beavers' last three games have been decided by five points or less for the first time since December 2017.
•    Babson's 16 turnovers in Saturday's loss to UMass Dartmouth were its most in 10 games going back to February of last season. 
•    The Green and White has been outscored at the free throw line in all four games this season and has attempted 22 fewer free throws (54) than its opponents have made (76) this winter. 
•    Babson has made at least seven three-pointers in each of its first four outings.
