Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass.—Senior
Cassie Lawson (Davie, Fla.) scored her second goal of the game in the 94th minute to help second-seeded Babson College defeat third-seeded Emerson College, 2-1, in double overtime in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament semifinal on Thursday afternoon at Hartwell-Rogers Field.
Babson, which has won three straight games and is now unbeaten in six consecutive matches, improves to 12-5-3 on the year and advances to the NEWMAC Tournament final for the first time since 2015. Emerson likely sees its season come to a close at 10-7-2.

Senior Gina Lukoskie (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) had a goal and senior Simone Barragan-Shaw (San Francisco, Calif.) registered an assist for the Lions. Junior Amara Schaub (Torrance, Calif.) made all five of her saves in the opening 45 minutes of the match.
The best scoring chance for either side in the first half came in the 21st minute when Lawson's header off a corner kick from Ferrantino was tipped was off the crossbar by Schaub in the 21st minute. Emerson took the lead in the 59th minute on Lukoskie's fourth goal of the season with a left-footed strike from just inside the top of the box that deflected off the crossbar and in.
Babson pulled level in the 77th minute on Lawson's fourth marker of the year. Ocampo flicked a long ball from Krauss over an Emerson defender and Lawson won a footrace to the loose ball and touched it past the hard-charging Schaub and into the open net.
The Green and White went in front for good just 3:10 into the first period of extra time when Lawson volleyed a service from Ferrantino over the head of Schaub to make it 2-1. The Lions only shot in overtime came in the 109th minute when sophomore Presley King (Lake Forest, Calif.) saw her shot from 35 yards sail over the crossbar.
The Bevers finished with a slim 16-15 edge in shots and held an 8-4 margin in corner kicks.
Babson will face either top-seeded MIT or fourth-seeded Springfield in Saturday's conference final. The location and game time will be announced on Thursday night.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are 7-4-2 all-time against Emerson although Thursday's victory snapped a two-game losing streak in the series.
• Seven of the last eight games between the sides have been decided by one goal or finished in a draw.
• Lawson extended her points streak to four games with her first career brace.
• Thursday's victory was the first in overtime for the Beavers since 2016 and the first NEWMAC Tournament overtime victory since 2014.
