MARLBOROUGH, Mass.—Junior defender Caroline Sutherland (Millville, Mass.) was named Defensive Player of the Year, first-year midfielder Izzy Lee (Phoenix, Ariz.) was tabbed Rookie of the Year, and a total of five players received All-Conference recognition when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its women's soccer post-season awards on Thursday morning.

Sutherland was joined on the All-Conference First Team by sophomore forward Josie Lee (Duxbury, Mass.) and junior midfielder Priscilla-Rose Men-Martin (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) while junior defender Jadyn Mapura (East Hanover, N.J.) and Izzy Lee both earned Second Team accolades.

Sutherland and Men-Martin were second team choices a year ago, Mapura was the 2023 Rookie of the Year and becomes a three-time all-conference selection, and the two Lees (no relation) are first-time honorees.

A pair of three-year starters on defense for the Beavers, Sutherland and Mapura anchored a Babson defense that allowed just 18 goals in 18 games, including nine goals in 11 NEWMAC matches, second fewest in the conference. They helped the Beavers post eight shutouts on the year, including five in conference play. Sutherland started 12 of her 16 games and played all 90 minutes in nine outings, while also finishing second of the team in scoring with three goals. Mapura started 17 of her 18 appearances and played at least 70 minutes in 10 matches.

A defensive starter in 43 of her 57 career games, Sutherland has also contributed four goals and two assists for 10 points, while Mapura has been a starter on defense in 58 of her 60 career outings.

A starter in all 16 of her appearances this season, Men-Martin was a key defensive midfielder for the Beavers, helping the team to eight clean sheets and conceding just nine goals against 11 NEWMAC opponents. She played all 90 minutes six times and logged at least 70 minutes eight other times. She did not score any goals despite finishing in a tie for fourth on the team with 19 shots.

A three-year veteran who saw action in just five games as a rookie in 2023, Men-Martin has started 31 of her 36 appearances the past two seasons with one goal scored and 36 shots and logging nearly 2400 minutes in the midfield.

Josie Lee started 18 matches for the Beavers this season and led the team in scoring with six goals and three assists for 15 points. She tied for sixth in the NEWMAC with four goals in conference play and tied for seventh with three assists and 11 points against league opponents. She tallied a goal and an assist in wins over Coast Guard and Wellesley and also scored against Clark and Emerson.

A starter in 34 of her 37 career appearances, Josie has scored nine goals and added five assists for 23 points with two game-winning goals.

Izzy Lee started 14 of 18 games for the Green and White this fall and scored two goals with one assist for five points, including a pair of game-winning goals. She scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Springfield and notched the game-winner in the 89th minute in a 2-1 triumph over Coast Guard. She logged at least 60 minutes in 12 games and tied for sixth on the team with 17 shots.

Babson finished the season with an 8-5-5 overall record and wound up 7-3-1 in the NEWMAC, tied for second-most conference wins in program history.
