Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.—Senior Andrew Kirkpatrick (Winnetka, Ill.) led four players in double figures with a game-high 20 points as visiting Babson College rolled to a 79-60 win over the Coast Guard Academy in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside Roland Hall.
With its second consecutive win, Babson improves to 10-7 overall and 3-3 in league play while Coast Guard slips to 4-13 overall and 2-4 in the NEWMAC.
Kirkpatrick was 4-of-5 from three-point range and sophomore Aidan Horan (Orchard Park, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting for the Beavers. Graduate student Ryan Cibull (Alameda, Calif.) drilled four three-points on the way to scoring 12 points to go along with six assists, first-year Timmy O'Toole (Milton, Mass.) added 12 points and five rebounds, and classmate Tyler Lauder (Malvern, Pa.) led all players with a career-high 10 boards.
First-year Trevor Parks (Oldsmar, Fla.) finished with 12 points and nine rebounds and sophomore Declan Rooney (Seattle, Wash.) chipped in with 11 points to lead the Bears.
The Green and White never trailed in the contest and got seven points from Kirkpatrick and three-pointers from Horan and sophomore David Cross (Cinnaminson, N.J.) to build a 19-5 advantage a little more than eight minutes in. Coast Guard pulled within nine midway through the half but Kirkpatrick and Horan combined for the next 16 points as the Beavers extended their lead to 33-16 at the 6:20 mark.
The Bears cut their deficit to 42-28 at the break but would get no closer as Babson opened the second half with a 21-8 run to put the game away. Back-to-back hoops by Lauder made it 51-32 and O'Toole, Horan, Cibull and first-year Mark Woolhouse (Lebanon, N.J.) followed with three-pointers to give the Green and White its largest lead of the game at 63-36 with 13:25 to play.
Coast Guard got as close as 16 with under seven minutes to play before consecutive triples by Cibull sparked an 8-0 spurt that stretched the margin back to 77-53 with just over three minutes to go.
The Beavers shot 44.6 percent from the floor and canned a season-high 15 three-pointers while shooting 50 percent from long range. They also finished with a 36-34 edge on the glass. The Bears shot 40.4 percent in the loss.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as Babson hosts Clark while Coast Guard travels to WPI.

 • The Beavers are 60-27 all-time against Coast Guard and have won 12 straight road games in the series going back to 2011.
 • Babson's 15 three-pointers are its most in a game since drilling 18 in a 96-71 win at Springfield on February 9, 2022.
