WHAT TO KNOW
• Babson earned one of 43 automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament by capturing its third NEWMAC championship in the last four seasons last Sunday.
• The Beavers, who entered the NCAA Tournament ranked 21st in the Division III NPI, edged Saint Joseph's (Maine) in Friday's first round to earn a rematch with No. 1 Trinity in Saturday's second round.

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 4-8 all-time against Trinity in a series that dates back to 1984.
• The Beavers and Bantams will meet for just the fifth time over the last 16 seasons on Saturday.
• The Green and White has dropped its last four game on the road in the series and has not defeated Trinity in Hartford since 2004.
• Five of the last seven games between the teams have been decided by seven points or fewer or in overtime.

• Jarrel Okorougo poured in 27 points on 12-of-15 shooting as then-No. 1 Trinity routed Babson 77-44 back on December 6 in Hartford, Conn.
• Henry Vetter scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Tristan Davis posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards for the Bantams, who shot 53.9 percent in the first half and closed the opening period with a 26-5 run to build a 50-23 lead at the break.

• Babson (22-6) has won 10 straight games and 16 of its last 17 overall after defeating Saint Joseph's (Maine), 71-67, in Friday's first round.
• O'Toole finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks, Mulvey provided 17 points and five assists, Ferdinando contributed 13 points and six dimes, and sophomore
Ryan Frauenheim added 10 points for the Beavers, who led by as many as nine in the second half but needed a three-pointer by Mulvey with 1:18 remaining to take the lead for good.
• Ferdinando (16.9 pts, 4.0 reb, 2.8 ast) has scored in double figures in 19 straight games, Mulvey (16.1 pts, 2.4 ast) ranks second nationally with 99 three-pointers and O'Toole (10.2 pts, 9.1 reb, 1.7 stl) leads the team with seven double-doubles this winter.

• No. 1 Trinity (26-2) has won eight consecutive games after rallying to defeat Keuka, 74-63, in Friday's first round.
• Vetter scored a game-high 26 points, Jared Berry contributed 11 points, nine rebounds and two steals, and David Ayles provided 10 points, six assists and three steals for the Bantams, who outscored the Wolves 43-21 over the final 10 minutes after enduring a stretch that saw them make just two field goals over 18 minutes spanning both halves.
• Okorougo (15.8 pts, 6.6 reb), who missed Friday's win with an injury, is shooting 48.4 percent from the field, Vetter (14.4 pts, 3.5 reb, 2.8 ast) has scored in double figures in 10 of the last 11 games and has made 38 straight free throws going back to January 21, and Drew Lazarre (10.8 pts, 4.5 reb, 2.4 ast, 2.4 stl) had made at least one three-pointer in 11 consecutive outings.
• Trinity, which has won 21 consecutive games at home, ranks second in Division III field goal defense holding opponents to just 36.9 percent shooting, third in scoring defense allowing 58.7 points and 12th in forced turnovers (18.78) while averaging 84.3 points per game.
BABSON IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
• After missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019 last winter, the Beavers return for the 14th time in program history and the ninth time since 2014.
• Babson claimed the school's first Division III national championship with a 79-78 win over Augustana (Ill.) in 2017 after advancing to the national semifinals for the first time in program history in 2015.
• The Green and White also reached the Sweet 16 in 2002 and 2016 and lost to eventual national champions Randolph-Macon in the second round of the 2022 tournament.
• The Beavers are 4-2 all-time in NCAA second round games but suffered a 67-51 loss to then-No. 1 and eventual national champions Randolph-Macon in the second round of the 2022 tournament.
POSTSEASON PEDIGREE
• Babson head coach
Stephen Brennan, now in his 31st season, is set to lead the Beavers into the NCAA Tournament for the 12th time in his career.
• A nine-time coach of the year honoree, Brennan is 16-10 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with 14 of the victories coming since 2015.
• Brennan, who has now led the Green and White to 20 or more wins nine times, currently ranks ninth among active Division III coaches with 519 victories.
LEGENDS ON THE SIDELINE
• Saturday's contest features two of the three active Division III coaches with at least 500 wins and a national championship in Babson's Brennan and Trinity's James Cosgrove.
• Brennan, the 2017 NABC Division III Coach of the Year, owns 519 wins, while Cosgrove is seventh with 532 career victories giving the two coaches a combined 1,051 wins.
THREE BEAVERS RECOGNIZED WITH ALL-NEWMAC HONORS
• O'Toole was selected as the league's defensive player of the year, Ferdinando garnered rookie of the year accolades and both players joined Mulvey on the all-conference first team when the NEWMAC announced its postseason awards on Tuesday.
• O'Toole, who was selected as the league's defensive player of the week five times during the season, ranked first in rebounding (9.1), third in steals (1.7) and fifth in blocked shots (1.1) on the way to becoming Babson's first NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year honoree.
• Ferdinando became the first Beavers' rookie to earn All-NEWMAC first-team recognition since current associate head coach
Joey Flannery '17 back in 2014, and is the program's second consecutive rookie of the year after Mulvey won the award last winter.
• Babson placed three players on the All-NEWMAC first team for the first time since 2017 and just the second time in the history of the conference.
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARDS
• O'Toole enters the NCAA Tournament ranked fifth in offensive rebounds per game (4.19) and has set new career highs in rebounds per game (9.1), offensive rebounds (116) and total rebounds (256).
• The most productive offensive rebounder in program history, O'Toole is the only player to chase down more than 100 in a single season, and his 328 career offensive boards are 100 more than any player since Babson began tracking the statistic in 1999-2000.
• He ranks eighth all-time with 769 rebounds, which is 10 behind current associate head coach
Joey Flannery '17, and his 256 boards this winter are tied for eighth in single-season history.
THREE AT A TIME
• Muvley's 99 three-pointers rank second in both single-season program history and Division III this winter, and he also enters the NCAA Tournament ranked third nationally in three-pointers per game (3.48) and 13th in three-point percentage (42.9).
• Ferdinando has connected on 86 triples shattering the Babson freshman record of 56 set back in 1994, and ranks eighth in Division III in total three-pointers, ninth in three-point percentage (43.2) and 13th in three-pointers per game (3.19).
• Mulvey is also tied for seventh in Babson history with 151 three-pointers in 52 games over his first two seasons.
MOVING UP THE CHARTS
• Senior
Tyler Lauder ranks 11th in program history with 61 blocked shots and is 18th all-time with 520 rebounds.
• In addition to ranking eighth in rebounds, O'Toole is tied for fifth in school history with 75 blocked shots and ranks 12th with 144 career steals.
A CLASS BY THEMSELVES
• With Saturday's victory over Wheaton, the Babson senior class of Lauder, O'Toole,
Jojo Chalumeau and
Jeremiah Paul are the first in program history to capture three NEWMAC Tournament championships during their careers.
• As freshman back in 2023, they helped the Beavers defeat WPI 59-53 in Worcester, and the group followed it up with a 73-64 victory at Clark in the 2024 conference final before routing Wheaton on Sunday.
SECOND-HALF SURGE
• Since dropping its fourth straight game to slip to 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the NEWMAC with a loss to Clark back on January 4, the Beavers have won 16 of their last 17 games while recording 12 double-digit victories.
• Babson has averaged 77.8 points and 1.20 points per possession during this stretch while shooting 46.5 percent overall, 52.7 percent on two-point attempts and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc while turning the ball over on just 14.9 percent of its possessions.
• Defensively, the Green and White is limiting opponents to 61.1 points and just 0.94 points per possession while forcing nearly 15 turnovers per game and holding its foes to just 29.6 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
BABSON TRENDS
• O'Toole, who was selected as the NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player after averaging 9.0 points, 14.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists, has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in 13 games this winter.
• Lauder ranks second on the team in assists (78), blocked shots (25) and rebounds per game (6.3), and owns a 1.56 assist-to-turnover ratio in 28 starts this season.
• Ferdinando has scored in double figures in 19 straight games, while Mulvey has reached double figures in 16 games in a row and has connected on three or more triples in each of the last 15 contests.

Logan Murphy, who matched his career high with three steals in Friday's win, has reached double figures in scoring in three of the last four games and is averaging 9.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 48.6 percent from the field over the last six contests.
• Frauenheim scored a season-high 14 points in the Beavers' NEWMAC Tournament semifinal win over Salve Regina is averaging 10.7 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field (12-of-20) in three postseason games this winter.

• Babson has attempted at least 20 three-pointers in each of its last 37 games going back to last season and has made at least eight triples 27 times during this stretch.
• The Beavers have limited 16 of their 28 opponents to nine or fewer offensive rebounds, while Saint Joseph's has pulled down 12 or more offensive boards in 20 of 28 contests.
• Both Babson and Trinity rank among the top 16 in Division III in adjusted efficiency margin with the Beavers ranking 14th in adjusted offense and 45th in adjusted defense, while the Bantams are first in adjusted defense and second in adjusted offense per The D3 Datacast.
