Box Score BABSON PARK, Mass.—Sophomore Kieran Dorney (Garden City, N.Y.) and first-year Nate Amado (Hanson, Mass.) both scored 17 points as Babson College rolled to an 85-61 win over visiting Clark University in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside Staake Gymnasium.
With its 12th win in the last 14 games, Babson improves to 17-6 overall and 10-2 in league play. Clark is also 17-6 overall and 6-6- in the NEWMAC.
Dorney added 11 rebounds and four assists to post his team-leading sixth double-double as four Beavers finished in double figures. Senior Colin Bradanese (Billerica, Mass.) scored 14 points, classmate James Welch (Needham, Mass.) added 12 points and graduate student Mitchell Kirsch (Atkinson, N.H.) contributed seven points and four boards to go along with a game-high eight assists.
Graduate student Biko Gayman (Fort Pierce, Fla.) finished with 11 points to lead the Cougars.
Leading 36-29 at the break, the Green and White ripped off a 19-5 run to begin the second half. Welch knocked down a pair of three-pointers, Kirsch hit another and six different players scored during the spurt as the Beavers pushed their advantage to 55-34 on a layup by Smith with 13:55 remaining in the contest.
Dorney followed a three-pointer by junior Andrew Kirkpatrick (Winnetka, Ill.) with two triples of his own to make it 64-39 at the 11:47 mark, and a layup by Kirsch sparked another 14-3 run that included four points apiece Bradanese and Droney to give Babson its largest lead of the game at 78-44 with 6:35 to play.
The Green and White opened the game with an 11-2 run and extended its margin to 20-9 following a triple by Welch and a hoop by senior Beau Smith (Germantown, N.Y.) with 8:42 to go in the stanza. Clark immediately responded with a 9-2 burst that included six points by Gayman to get within four, but Amado scored nine points over the final 6:14 of the half to give the hosts a seven-point cushion going to the locker room.
The Beavers, which shot 43.9 percent, recorded assists on 23 of their 29 made field goals and scored 18 points off of 13 Clark turnovers. The Cougars shot just 35.1 percent overall and went 5-of-22 (22.7 percent) from beyond the arc.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as Babson travels to Coast Guard, while Clark hosts Springfield.

• The Beavers are 38-39 all-time against Clark and have won 14 of the last 15 games in the series dating back to 2014.
• Babson is 11-2 on the year at home, which includes a 6-1 mark in NEWMAC play.
• The Beavers are 6-0 this winter and have won their last eight games when making at least 10 three-pointers.
• With eight more assists on Saturday, Kirsch now has 53 against just 11 turnovers over the last 10 games.
