SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 37-39 all-time against Clark in a series that dates back to the 1934-35 season.
• The Beavers have won 13 of the last 14 games against the Cougars going back to the 2013-14 campaign.
• The Green and White have captured the last seven games at Staake Gymnasium dating back to the 2013-14 season, winning by an average of 19.9 points per game.
LAST MEETING
• Graduate student Mitchell Kirsch and senior Colin Bradanese combined for all 14 points in overtime as visiting Babson rallied to defeat Clark, 71-68, back on January 26 inside the Kneller Athletic Center.
• Bradanese recorded his team-leading fifth double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while graduate student Spencer Cline came off the bench to add 17 points and four assists. Kirsch contributed 11 points, nine boards, a game-high five steals and four assists, and junior Andrew Kirkpatrick chipped in with 10 points, four dimes and two steals.
• Sophomore Mikey O'Brien finished with 18 points, graduate student Tyler Davern and first-year Isaiah Taylor both added 13 and sophomore Bruce Saintilus chipped in with 12 to lead the Cougars.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (16-6, 9-2 NEWMAC) has won seven of its last eight games, including a 96-71 NEWMAC victory at Springfield on Wednesday night.
• Sophomore Kieran Dorney scored a game-high 21 points and Babson knocked down a season-best 18 three-pointers in the win. Dorney went 5-of-6 from beyond the arc and added 10 rebounds to post his fifth double-double of the year.
• Senior James Welch also hit five three-pointers on the way to scoring 17 points, while Kirsch finished with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting and a game-high seven assists. Bradanese also contributed 10 points and eight boards in the win.
• Babson's 18 three-pointers are one shy of the single-game record of 19 set in a 94-73 win over Tufts on December 1, 2018.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
• Clark (17-5, 6-5 NEWMAC) has won three of its last four games, including an 82-61 NEWMAC victory at Wheaton on Wednesday night.
• Taylor netted a team-high 23 points on 10-14 shooting and recorded three steals while Davern scored 22 points and led the team with eight rebounds. Senior Zackary Mittelstadt and first-year Kyle Jackson each added nine points.
• Clark shot 53.2 percent from the field and outrebounded the Lyons, 37-23.
• The Cougars rank fourth in Division III with 13.2 steals per game and 22.6 turnovers forced per game.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
• Babson is 10-2 on home court this season, with its two losses to nationally-ranked teams.
• The Beavers fell to then-No. 9 Saint Joseph (Connecticut), 76-59, back on November 17, and dropped an 85-64 decision to No. 24 WPI last Saturday.
• The Green and White is 24-5 at Staaker Gymnasium over the past three years, with three of the five setbacks to nationally-ranked teams.
A PEAK AT THE NEWMAC
• With just three games remaining in the regular season, WPI (10-1) and Babson (9-2) are in strong position to earn the top two seeds in the NEWMAC Tournament.
• Emerson (7-4), Clark (6-5) and MIT (5-6) are battling for the final three playoff spots.
• The top three teams receive a first-round bye and advance to the NEWMAC semifinals on February 24, while the fourth seed will host the five seed in a quarterfinal on February 22, with the winner traveling to the top seed for a semifinal contest. The NEWMAC final is February 26 at the highest remaining seed.
BEAVER BITES
• Kirsch has 45 assists and just eight turnovers over his last nine games, and is now 24th in Division III in assist-turnover ratio (+2.71).
• Bradanese has scored in double figures in five of his last six games, averaging 17.0 points per game in that span. He ranks eighth in the NEWMAC in scoring (14.6) and fifth in field goal percentage (53.6).
• Dorney has made at least three 3-pointers in his last four and six of his last eight games, shooting 55.6 percent from beyond the arc in those eight. He now ranks fourth in the NEWMAC in 3-point FG percentage (42.9).
• Amado is ranked seventh in the NEWMAC in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and 22nd in scoring (10.9 ppg), leading the conference in rebounding and ranking third in scoring among first-year players.
BY THE NUMBERS
• The Beavers are 10-1 this season when leading at halftime, and 17-3 since the start of last season.
• The Green and White are 14-3 this season when shooting 40 percent or better from the field, and 22-4 since the start of last season.
• Babson has won 16 of its last 17 over the past two seasons when winning the rebounding battle, and is 28-2 with the advantage on the glass since the start of the 2019-20 campaign.
